King's Women's Laxers Fall to Susquehanna, 9-5

KING'S WOMEN'S LAXERS FALL TO SUSQUEHANNA

WILKES-BARRE -- Ashley Rose Lynn Scored three goals and Brooke Klair added two goals and one assist to lead the visiting Susquehanna University women's lacrosse team to a 9-5 victory over King's College Wednesday at McCarthy Stadium.

With the win Susquehanna improved to 5-4 while King's slipped to 3-5.

King's held a 4-2 lead with 17:37 left in the first half but the River Hawks scored five straight to take a 7-4 lead into the break.  In the second half both teams played gritty defense as Susquehanna managed a 2-1 edge in goals over the game's final 30 minutes.

Amanda Carroll led King's with two goals while Gabriella Morrocu had one goal and one assist. Morrocu notched the 150th goal of her career and moved to within two points of reaching the 200-point plateau for her career.

Katy Higinbothom and Megan O'Brien also had one goal each for the Lady Monarchs.

Susquehanna owned a 32-21 advantage in shots and a 29-21 lead in ground balls while forcing 26 King's turnovers while committing 19. King's won nine of the 16 draws.

King's will be idle until Monday when the Lady Monarchs play Mount Saint Mary (NY) in a home make-up game at 7:00 PM.
