King's Women's Lacrosse Come up Short in Loss to Misericordia

KING'S WOMEN'S LAXERS FALL TO MISERICORDIA

WILKES-BARRE --Lexi Willey and Liz Mulvey combined for nine goals to power the Misericordia University women's lacrosse team to a 15-5 victory over host King's College Wednesday night at McCarthy Stadium.

With the win Misericordia improved to 8-2 overall and 3-0 in Freedom Conference play while King's slipped to 6-6 and 2-2.

Misericordia opened a 8-1 lead at the half on the strength of two goals apiece by Amy Roth and  Willey. The Lady Monarchs' lone goal of the half was scored by Katy Higinbothom with 7:19 to go in the half after the Cougars forged a 7-0 lead.

Willey finished with five goals and two assists while Mulvey added four goals and an assist. Roth and Emily Connell added two goal each. Cougar goalie Katie McGloughlin made six saves in net.

Kendra McCoy led King's with two goals and one assist while Higinbothom finished with two scores. Anastasia Araviakis chipped in with one goal, one assist, seven caused turnovers, and seven ground balls. King's goalie Victoria Zawacki had 15 saves.

King's will return home Saturday with a 1:00 PM conference matchup against Eastern University.
