KING'S FOOTBALL TO GET INTO MAC WIN COLUMN WITH ROAD GAME AT LEBANON VALLEY
WILKES-BARRE -- After dropping its first Middle Atlantic Conference game of the season last week at defending champion Stevenson University, the King's College football team is looking to return to the win column when the Monarchs travel to Annville to face MAC rival Lebanon Valley College at 1:00 PM at Arnold Field.
After winning its first game of the season 30-27 over non-conference foe Moravian College, King's (1-1) opened up its MAC slate last week with a 38-0 loss at Stevenson. Lebanon Valley took the opposite route to registering a 1-1 mark. The Flying Dutchmen lost its season-opening non-conference game 48-7 at home to Franklin & Marshall College. But the Dutchmen rebounded last week to win on the road with a 36-0 league win at Wilkes.

THE COACHES
King's coach Jeff Knarr is in his eighth year as the Monarch mentor and owns a 23-49 career mark. Lebanon Valley head coach Joe Buehler is in his second year and is 5-7.
THE SERIES
This is the 19th meeting between the teams as Lebanon Valley leads the all-time series10-8 . In recent years the rivalry has featured a number of close games. King's won last year 21-17, while Lebanon Valley was victorious 10-6 in 2015 and 10-7 in 2014. King's last win at Arnold Field came by a score of 27-6 in 2005.
LAST YEAR'S GAME:
At King's McCarthy Stadium, the Monarchs jumped out to a 14-3 first quarter lead and held on for a 21-17 triumph on Homecoming. The Monarchs amassed 407 yards of total offense compared to 376 for the Dutchmen.
KING'S ON OFFENSE: MULTIPLE SPREAD
After two games the Monarchs have averaged 376 total yards per-game, including 266.5 passing yards and 109.5 rushing yards. Senior quarterback
Zach Whitehead has completed 56-of-89 passes for 521 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. He has also posted a team-high 108 rushing yards on 34 carries with three touchdowns. Senior wide receiver

Tyler Marroni follows with 14 catches for 196 yards. Senior H-Back
Trey Campbell adds nine receptions for 65 yards while senior wide receiver
Corey Flynn has hauled in seven passes for 86 yards. Junior running back
Jordan Downes has rushed for 73 yards on 22 attempts while sophomore
Titus Nelson adds 36 yards on 11 carries.
LEBANON VALLEY ON OFFENSE: _Multiple Pro Set
Lebanon Valley has averaged 237.5 yards of total offense per-game. The Flying Dutchmen have passed for 111.0 yards each contest but their traditionally power running game checks in at 126.5 yards. Senior cornerback Tyler Sterner has completed 15-of-33 passes for 187 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. A deep crop of running backs is headed by Jon Jones with 66 yards on 24 carries with one score. Senior Paxton Hayes follows with 50 yards in eight attempts while junior Ryan Funk checks in with 45 yards on 13 carries. Senior wide receiver Tim Pirrone has a team-high five catches for 36 yards while Jimmy DeLeCruz follows with four receptions for 62 yards and two touchdowns.
KING'S ON DEFENSE: MULTIPLE 3-4
The King's defense has allowed a two-game average of 386.5 yards per-game, including 262.0 passing yards and 124.5 rushing yards. Senior linebacker
Jake Manetti tops the squad with 16 tackles, including 7.0 tackles for loss. Fellow senior linebacker
Bruce Damon also adds 16 tackles on the year. Sophomore linebacker
Mando Sallavanti has contributed 11 tackles with 2.0 tackles for loss while sophomore safety
Trevor Hill has tallied 10 tackles with an interception. Sophomore cornerback
Eli Vascos has made nine tackles with 1.5 tackles for loss while senior cornerback
Justin Foster chips in with eight tackles.
LEBANON VALLEY ON DEFENSE: 3-4
The Dutchmen defense is allowing just 239.5 yards of total offense this season, including only 85.5 rushing yards and 154.0 passing yards. Senior linebacker Tom Gallagher tops the squad with 12 tackles on the year. Junior linebacker Tyler Hodges follows with eight stops and 3.5 tackles for loss while senior linebacker Tommy Garner adds seven tackles. Senior safety Cale Bruso has registered six tackles and one forced fumble while senior defensive end Guy Zimmerman has also posted six stops. Senior linebacker Tim Schumacher has also made six tackles while freshman linebacker Tyler Lutz has made six tackles with one interception.
NEXT WEEK:
King's will return home after two games on the road on September 23 when the Monarchs play their Homecoming Game against traditional MAC rival Lycoming College at 1:00 PM at McCarthy Stadium.
