That's What He Said: "These seniors have always had that mantra, that whatever's good for the team they're willing to do. Whatever role each one of these guys has had, they've embraced that role, done the best they could with that role while personally improving to maybe bettering their role. They have shown the younger guys how to go about things" – Head coach Jeff Knarr on the eight seniors being honored Saturday.

Last Time Out For King's: The visiting Cougars of Misericordia University used a pick-six midway through the second quarter as momentum, pulling away from the hosting King's College football team for a 41-23 win over the Monarchs on a cold, rainy afternoon from McCarthy Stadium. The win was the first for the Cougars in the seven-year history between the two teams.

Despite the loss, the Monarch offense continued to chew out yards on the ground, as King's rushed for 282 yards Saturday. Junior running back Jordan Downes posted a season-best 173 yards on 34 carries, while quarterback Tommy Klock added 91 on 20 attempts.

Klock finished the game 13-for-26 through the air for 163 yards, but much of his damage came as King's tried to mount a comeback late in the game. He did toss a pair of touchdown passes, connecting with Jayner Gorospe for a 39-yard score while hitting Gabe Boccella for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to make the score 34-23.

Gorospe led all King's receivers with 51 yards through the air on two catches, while Boccella finished with a King's-best four receptions for 36 yards. Junior Devin Ringler posted two catches for 26 yards as well for King's, which won the yardage battle 445-376.

Defensively, Mando Sallavanti posted 12 total tackles, while Cory Wilson came off the bench to record 11 stops including a team-high seven solo tackles. Izuchukwu Mozie added six tackles, while Jaret Horn finished with five tackles and a pass break-up.

The Book on the Monarchs (4-4, 3-3 MAC):
  • The Monarchs continue to boast one of the best offensive units in the Middle Atlantic Conference this season, especially on the ground after last week's solid running performance. The Monarchs have the MAC's best offense by total offensive numbers, as King's is averaging 433.4 yards per game through the air and on the ground.
  • The run game has been strong, as King's is averaging 208.3 yards per game, while supplementing that with 225 yards on average through the air.

  • Junior Jordan Downes has gotten better and better each week for King's, now averaging 102.9 yards per game, the only player in the conference over 100 yards per game. He ranks eighth in the nation in all-purpose yards with 180.5 a game, while his 813 yards on the ground this season are the 34th most in the country.
  • Downes is looking to be the first 1,000-yard rusher for King's since the 2005 season when John Ortiz rushed for 1,238 yards.

Last Time Out For Delaware Valley: Delaware Valley University scored 42 consecutive points, including touchdown on offense, defense and special teams, en route to a 49-14, Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) victory over visiting Albright College.

The win was the 18th consecutive conference win for the defending MAC champions as the Aggies improved to 7-1 overall and 6-0 in the league. They remained tied for first in the conference standings with Misericordia University with two games remaining in the regular season. DelVal and Misericordia do not meet on the gridiron this season due to the conference's 11-team, eight-game unbalanced schedule. The Aggies currently hold the tiebreaker for the NCAA berth due to conference strength of schedule.

The Aggies notched 418 yards of total offense while holding the Lions to 245 yards. Darden was 9-for-16 for 167 yards and two touchdowns in the air and had 27 yards and two scores on the ground. Mario Nigro registered the first, 100-yard game of his career as he bulled his way to 107 yards on 15 carries. Defensively, Anthony Nobile had 10 tackles and half a sack while Anthony Tedesco tallied eight stops and 1.5 sacks.

The Book on the Aggies (7-1, 6-0 MAC):
  • Delaware Valley's offense will look to run, run and run some more, leading the conference in rushing yards per game with 224.4, while its 5.6 yards per carry as a team leads the MAC.
  • Though DelVal doesn't throw it a ton, posting just 205 attempts all season (third-fewest in the MAC), it does it with precision posting the third-best passing efficiency as a squad.
  • Dashawn Darden is sixth in the MAC in rushing with 65.1 yards per game, but the deep backfield for DVU has three runners in the top 13 in yards per game.
  • Darden is also second in the MAC in efficiency, throwing for 18 touchdowns as compared to just two interceptions.
  • Tight end Dan Allen is the top threat in the air, leading the team with six touchdowns while averaging 21 yards per catch.
  • Tailbacks Donte Simmons and Quadir Strothers are combining to average 95.8 yards a game.
  • The Aggie defense is one of the best in the nation, ranking first in the MAC in scoring defense along with allowing the fewest yards per game with just 277.6 of total offense.
  • During their current seven-game win streak, DVU has allowed over 21 points just once, and lead the conference in opposing first downs with only 15.6 per game. The Aggies also allow teams to convert third-downs at a 29.8 percent rate, best in the MAC.
  • Individually, Delaware Valley has seen freshman Michael Nobile post 7.5 sacks per game, second in the MAC, while leading the conference in tackles for loss with 2.88 per game. Brother Anthony is third in the MAC in TFL's with 1.50 per game.
Against Delaware Valley All-Time: The two teams have played a total of 32 times previously, and Delaware Valley holds a 21-11 record all-time against the Monarchs. The series dates back to 1949, when King's eked out a 19-13 win over Delaware Valley. The Aggies have won the last four games in the series, with the Monarchs last win coming during the 2013 season, a 21-14 overtime victory in Doylestown. King's hasn't won at home in the series since the 2002 season, a 50-14 victory for the Monarchs.
