MORAVIAN HANDS KING'S WOMEN'S LAXERS FIRST LOSS OF SEASON

WILKES-BARRE -- The visiting Moravian College women's lacrosse team broke open a 5-5 game in the first half with the last six goals of the opening stanza, en route to a 18-8 victory over host King's College Wednesday at McCarthy Stadium.

With the win, Moravian won its season opener while King's slipped to 2-1.

Overall, the Greyhounds scored 11 straight goals to build a 17-5 lead before King's got back on the board with 10:53 left in the contest.

Liz Bill had four goals and two assists to lead Moravian while Meaghan McMullen added four goals. Jen Picciuto had three goals and three assists for the Greyhounds.

Anastasia Araviakis paced King's with three goals and one assist while Kylie McCarthy added two goals. Kendra McCoy and Mary Kate Klodarska also scored once for King's. Monarch goalie Orla Cottell made four saves. Kelly Pierce had a team-high four ground balls for King's.

King's will travel to face Virginia Wesleyan as part of a three-game southern swing beginning March 4.
