King's Women's Laxers Start Slow in 18-13 Loss at Lebanon Valley

FAST START PUSHES LEBANON VALLEY WOMEN'S LACROSSE TO 18-13 WIN OVER KING'S

ANNVILLE -- The Lebanon Valley College women's lacrosse team raced out to a 13-5 first-half lead en route to posting a 18-13 victory over visiting King's College Thursday night in Annville.

With the win, Lebanon Valley improved to 2-3 on the year while King's slipped to 2-6 after suffering its sixth straight loss.

King's, which played without leading scorer Anastasia Araviakis, outscore Lebanon Valley 8-5 in the second half but were unable to overcome its first-half deficit. 

Kylie McCarthy led King's with four goals, one assist, and four ground balls. Emma Lehman, Caitlyn Butchko, and Kelly Pierce all added two goals and one assist.  In goal, Orla Cottell made two saves in the game.

Lebanon Valley was paced by Makenzie Kelley with five goals and one assist while Veronica Venezia posted four goals and six assists. Hannah Oliveras made five saves in net.

The Flying Dutchwomen outshot King's 32-23 and held a 24-9 advantage in draws. King's owned a 24-18 lead in ground balls.

King's returns to action Thursday with a 7:00 PM home matchup with Lycoming College  at McCarthy Stadium.
