King's Women's Lacrosse Outlasts Lycoming 14-13 in Overtime

KING'S WOMEN'S LAXERS OUTLAST LYCOMING, 14-13

WILKES-BARRE -- Amanda Carroll scored the winning goal 2:09 into overtime as the King's College women's lacrosse team outlasted visiting Lycoming College 14-13 Thursday night at McCarthy Stadium.

With the win King's improved to 3-6 on the year while Lycoming slipped to 3-4. 

Lycoming sent the game into overtime when Alex Tchou scored with just 0:07 left in regulation to knot the score at 13-13.

The Warriors won the draw in extra time and had a chance to win. But Lady Monarch goalie Orla Cottell made a key save on a shot by Kayla DiJoseph and King's gained possession. 

From their the Lady Monarchs worked the ball downfield where Carroll eventually scored the winning goal from eight yards out. 

Anastasia Araviakis led King's with four goals and two assists while Carroll added four goals and one assist. Kendra McCoy contributed two goals and an assist while Cottell posted seven saves in net.

DiJoseph led Lycoming with four goals and two assists while Kelly McGuiness added four goals. 

King's outshot Lycoming 32-24 and held a 15-10 advantage in ground balls.

King's returns to action Saturday with a 1:00 PM home game against Kean University.
