KING'S WOMEN EDGED BY MISERICORDIA, 5-4
WILKES-BARRE, PA -- The King's College women's tennis won three of the six singles matches but dropped two of the three doubles matches to fall to Misericordia University 5-4 on Wednesday afternoon at Kirby Park in Wilkes-Barre.
The Monarchs fell to 3-9 overall and 1-2 in conference matches. The Cougars improved to 8-1 overall and 1-0 in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom play.
Emily Fernandez won her singles match 6-1, 6-0 to improve to 13-3 on the season. She also teamed with
Natalie Coffee to win King's lone doubles point with an 8-5 victory in the top flight.
Alyssa Santarelli was a 6-4, 6-4 winner at number five singles and
Thea Seasock won in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 in the sixth flight.
The Monarchs will be back in action on Sunday when they host Moravian College for a non-conference match beginning at 12:00 p.m.
