Box Score KING'S WOMEN'S LAXERS FALL TO FDU
Madison, N.J. - The three-time defending Freedom Conference champion FDU-Florham women's lacrosse team showed its strength with a 13-5 win over the visiting King's College Saturday in Madison, NJ. FDU-Florham built a 6-3 lead in the first half and continued in the second.
With the loss, King's falls to 4-9 overall, while FDU moves to 8-4.
The opening score was in the first two minutes of play when freshman Emma Lehman scored on an unassisted goal to give King's the early 1-0 lead. FDU would answer with four straight goals before Kendra McCoy broke the streak off a Lehman feed to cut the score to 4-2.
The Devils responded in less than two minutes at the 11:08 mark to push their lead to 5-2. Lauren Nicotra would find Anastasia Araviakis with 3:50 left in the half, but the Devils scored in the final minute to have a 6-3 advantage going into halftime.
FDU kept the pressure up, outscoring the Monarchs 7-2 in the second half. Araviakis picked up two goals in the half to record her eleventh hat trick of the season.
The women's lacrosse team returns home on April 18 for a 5 p.m. match against Delaware Valley.
