KING'S WOMEN'S TENNIS SCORED 8-1 VICTORY OVER PENN STATE ABINGTON
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College women's tennis team swept all three doubles matches and added five victories is six singles matches as the Lady Monarchs registered a 8-1 triumph Sunday at Kirby Park.
With the win King's improved to 5-10 on the year while Abington slipped to 5-7.
Freshman Emily Fernandez improved to 15-4 in singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win in the number-one flight. Alyssa Santarelli also earned a 6-0, 6-0 triumph in the fifth flight while Martina Gale posted a 6-0, 6-1 win at fourth singles. Thea Seasock won a 8-1 pro-set in the sixth flight while Emily Kabalka tallied a three-set victory at number-two doubles.
Fernandez teamed with Natalie Coffee for a 8-2 doubles victory in the number-one flight. Kabalka and Alexis Zalutko were 8-5 victors second doubles while Julia Keppel and Diana Rodriguez posted a 8-2 triumph at third doubles.
King's will next close out its MAC Freedom Conference slate Saturday with a 1:00 PM matchup at DeSales University.
