WILKES-BARRE, PA (January 2, 2019) – The King's College women's basketball team will look to snap a three-game losing skid Thursday evening, traveling to Selinsgrove, PA for a non-conference battle with Susquehanna University. The Monarchs return from California after the New Year, looking to shake off a pair of losses out west to No. 14 Illinois Wesleyan University and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges.

Last Time Out: The King's College women's basketball team finished its trip to the West Coast on Sunday, dropping a non-conference battle with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges 83-60 in action from Roberts Pavilion.
The Athenas (9-2) jumped out quickly with 28 first-quarter points and led for the entirety of the contest. CMS benefited from 26 second-chance points and 40 points in the paint, which each were helped by a 53-29 rebounding edge for the Athenas.
King's was led offensively by the 14 points from
Alexis Steeber, who shot 6-for-12 from the floor in 21 minutes of action. The senior from Berwick, PA has now paced the Monarchs in scoring the past three games.
Junior
Rebecca Prociak finished with 12 points and a team-high seven rebounds, adding three assists. Fellow junior
Mackenzie Yori chalked up eight points in 27 minutes, also contributing five assists and three rebounds as well.

Lindsey Dippre scored seven points for King's, while junior
Kayla Dillinger connected on a pair of three-pointers for six points. The Monarchs shot the ball well in the second half, making 13-of-28 (46.4 percent), connecting on 39.3 percent (22-56) from the floor on the game.
A Look At The Monarchs (6-5, 1-1 MAC Freedom):
- The Monarchs will look to get back to their winning ways, having dropped the last three games after a five-game win streak from November 20 to December 5.
- After scoring over 88 points in back-to-back games on November 29 and December 5, King's has not gotten over 65 the past three contests.
- Turnovers have continued to not be a problem for the Monarchs, as King's ranks first in the MAC and 28th nationally in turnovers per game with just 14.2.
- The Monarchs are also 31st in the country in assist to turnover ratio at 1.08, one of just three teams in the MAC Freedom with a positive ratio.
- King's will look to improve on its rebounding margin going into 2019, which ranks 8th in the MAC Freedom and 393rd in the county at -8.1 a game.
- Junior guard Mackenzie Yori continues to shoot the ball well from behind the arc, making 36.1 percent on her three-point attempts. She also is shooting .474 for the season, making a team-best 74 field goals.
- Junior Rebecca Prociak leads the team with 16.5 points per game, which is second in the MAC Freedom. Her 61 free-throw makes in the conference paces the circuit as of January 2.
- Senior Alexis Steeber is 12th in the MAC Freedom in points per game with 14.5, and the local product has paced King's in scoring five games this year.
- Junior Kayla Dillinger, who hadn't scored in her previous three games, posted back-to-back games of six points while out in California.
- The Monarchs shared the ball well against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, assisting on 17 of the game's 22 made buckets. It was the highest ratio of assists to made field goals this year for King's.
- The trip to Susquehanna will finish the longest road trip of the year for King's, one that latest four games over almost a full calendar month. That's good news for the Monarchs, who are 3-0 at home this season.
A Look At The River Hawks (3-7, 0-1 Landmark):
- After a 3-1 start to the season, the River Hawks have fallen on hard times having dropped the last six games overall including back games at the Susan Dunagan Holiday Classic at Roanoke College. SU fell 70-58 to Hood College, before dropping a 76-48 contest to the host Maroons.
- Thursday evening's game with King's will be the final non-conference game of the season for the River Hawks.
- Susquehanna likes to shoot the three-pointer, making 7.5 from behind the arc per game. That rate is the highest in the Landmark Conference, while the 223 taken also paced the league.
- Due to that, SU doesn't get to the free throw much as it has taken only 80 free throws as a team all season.
- Erin McQuillen is third in the Landmark in points per game with 15.3, also ranking third in assists per game with 4.1 though she hasn't played since a loss to William Paterson back on December 15.
- Amanda Lemire is pouring in 11.5 points per game, shooting 49 percent from the floor including making nearly 60 percent from behind the three-point line.
- Alanna Connolly is posting 5.4 points per game, while shooting 65.6 percent from the field.
- Head coach Jim Reed is in his 14th season and has won a total of 197 career victories.
Against Susquehanna All-Time: The Monarchs are 14-26 all-time against Susquehanna, with last year's game ending in a 62-61 win for the River Hawks.
