Last Time Out:  Visiting Lycoming College used a 28-4 run over the first 10 minutes of the game to pull away as the King's College women's basketball team fell for the first time at home this season with a 77-55 defeat to the Warriors in non-conference play from McGrane Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.

Playing at home for the first time in exactly a month, the Monarchs (7-6) couldn't get the offense rolling in the first quarter. On the flip side, the Warriors (11-4) could do no wrong in the opening stanza, shooing 72.2 percent (13-18) from the floor while scoring 22 of the period's 28 points in the paint.

Senior Alexis Steeber had another solid performance for the Monarchs, as she finished with a team-high 15 points on 7-of-14 shooting. Steeber also lead King's on the glass with six rebounds, while Yori totaled 14 points, connecting on two of her three shots from three-point land. Junior Rebecca Prociak finished with nine points and four rebounds, while Lindsey Dippre chalked up eight points, three assists and two rebounds.

King's shot 37.5 percent (24-64) from the floor on the afternoon, taking only four free throws on the contest. The four free throw attempts for King's was its fewest in a game since taking only three against FDU-Florham back on February 3, 2016. Freshman Emily Kriston also added five points in 16 minutes off the bench for the Monarchs.

A Look At The Monarchs (7-6, 1-1 MAC Freedom):
  • King's sits right in the middle of the conference statistical standings in scoring offense and defense, ranking fourth in scoring at 70.5 points per game while posting the fifth-best scoring margin at 1.6 points.
  • The Monarchs are third in the conference in free throw percentage at 69.7 percent for the season.
  • King's still leads the conference in turnovers committed per game, giving up the ball just 14.3 times a game. The next closest team, Delaware Valley, is turning the ball over 15.4 times per contest.
  • The Monarchs have the highest scoring trio of players in the league, as Rebecca Prociak, Mackenzie Yori and Alexi Steeber are combining to post 46.7 points between them.
  • Prociak is third in the conference in scoring with 16.2 points per game, while Yori is right behind her with 16.0 points a night.
  • The junior forward is second in the conference and 36th nationally in double-doubles, chalking up six this season so far for King's.
  • Yori ranks third in the conference in steals per game with 3.08, and her 23 made three-pointers is the fourth most in the MAC Freedom so far this season.
  • Since shooting .476 against Eastern, the Monarchs have shot over 40 percent in one game, a narrow loss to No. 14 Illinois Wesleyan University in California.
  • King's is 4-3 in true road games this season, including winning their last road game at Susquehanna University back on January 3.
A Look At The Valiants (11-1, 2-0 MAC Freedom):
  • Manhattanville College is having a strong start to the season, having not lost to a Division III opponent this year. The Valiants lone loss came to Division II Nyack College by three points last week.
  • The Valiants are outscoring their opposition by 28.4 points per game, which is the second-best rate in the MAC Freedom and eighth best rate in Division III.
  • Manhattanville is fifth in the nation in scoring defense, allowing teams to post just 45.8 points per game. Much of that has to do with the fifth-best turnover margin in the nation, averaging 10.45 more turnovers forced than committed.
  • The Valiants are also seventh in the NCAA in field goal percentage defense, as teams are shooting just 30.2 percent against them this season.
  • Sarah Coutu has been a terror for opposing teams this season, as she is posting 15.6 points per game, while her 4.8 steals per game is third-best in NCAA Division III.
  • Teammate Kayleah McGuire is tied with her teammate in scoring with 15.6 points a night, while ranking 12th in rebounding with 6.7 per game. She also shoots 51.5 percent from the field, third-best in the MAC Freedom.
Against Manhattanville All-Time: Dating back to 2008, King's is 13-9 against the Valiants including winning the last three games against Manhattanville. Last season, King's defeated the Valiants in Purchase, NY 65-62. The series lately has produced low scoring affairs, with the winning score coming under 65 the last four contests.

Up Next: King's will host FDU-Florham in McGrane Gymnasium Saturday, January 12 at 1 p.m. in MAC Freedom play.
