WILKES-BARRE, PA (February 4, 2019) – Following a big Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) win over FDU-Florham on Saturday, the King's College women's basketball team will look to keep its momentum going with another league game Wednesday against Delaware Valley University. King's currently sits in fourth place in the conference, a game behind Manhattanville College and Misericordia University for the second spot.

Rebecca Prociak scored her 1,000th career point as part of another huge performance, leading the King's College women's basketball team to a 71-63 road win over FDU-Florham in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play Saturday afternoon.
The Monarchs (12-9, 6-4 MAC Freedom) got another massive double-double from its standout post player, as Prociak finished with 27 points, 18 rebounds and eight rebounds. Prociak scored 14 points in the opening half, with the fourth field goal of half with just under 3:00 minutes left in the second quarter giving her 13 for the game and 1,000 for her career.
Down 33-30 at the break, the Monarchs outscored their hosts 22-10 in the third quarter to take a 52-43 lead into the fourth. With 5:51 to go in the fourth quarter, Cayla Staggers of FDU-Florham trimmed the King's lead to 58-55, but the Monarchs scored six of the next seven points to regain an eight-point edge at 64-56.
The Devils made it a 67-63 contest with 31 seconds to go, but Prociak hit her final four free throws of the contest to secure the big conference victory for the Monarchs. Prociak became the 22nd player in program history to get to 1,000 for her career, as she finished 8-of-14 from the field and 11-of-14 from the line.
Junior
Mackenzie Yori added 16 points, connecting on 3-of-8 from three-point land while tying a career-high in rebounding with 10 caroms. Freshman
Samantha Rajza came off the bench to post 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field, posting three assists as well.
Alexis Steeber struggled from the floor for King's, but provided six points and four steals in addition to her four points. Fellow senior
Lindsey Dippre also chalked up seven points for the Monarchs in the win, as King's shot 39 percent (23-59) for the contest.
A Look At The Monarchs (12-9, 6-4 MAC Freedom):
- Rebecca Prociak became the 23rd player in program history to earn 1,000 points for her career, and it was the third straight season King's has had at least one 1,000-point scorer. Prociak will be honored prior to Wednesday's game for her accomplishment.
- Prociak leads the MAC Freedom in scoring with 17.9 points per game, while also pacing the conference in made free throw makes with 127. She also leads the conference in rebounding with 10.2 per game.
- Prociak is also just 23 made free throws shy of the program record of 150 set by Mary Beth Bowler 37 seasons ago.
- Junior Mackenzie Yori is sixth in the conference in scoring with 15.2 points a night, connecting on 41 made three-pointers. Her triples total is fourth-best in the conference.
- Senior Alexis Steeber enters Wednesday's game 7th in the league in scoring with 14.9 points per game.
- King's is 6-2 at home this season, and has won all but one league game in McGrane Gymnasium.
- Freshman Samantha Rajza has posted double-digits in four of her last five games, as King's has gone 3-1 over that stretch. When Rajza posts double figures, King's is 6-3 this season.
- King's is 11-1 this season when posting 70 or more points, with the lone loss coming last week at Eastern University.
- The Monarchs earned a season sweep of FDU-Florham Saturday for the first time since the 2011-12.
A Look At The Aggies (8-13, 2-8 MAC Freedom):
- Delaware Valley comes into Wednesday's game with the MAC Freedom's lowest scoring offense at 61.6 points per game, but maintains the league's fourth-best scoring defense at 66.5 points.
- Delaware Valley is second in the conference in three-point field goal makes per game with 6.5 a night. The Aggies are second in the MAC Freedom in free throw percentage, shooting 83.9 percent from the line.
- Domanique Moser is eighth in the conference in scoring with 14.8 points per game, also pulling in 7.2 rebounds per game. Both are team-bests for the Aggies.
- Ashley Smink is also pouring in the 10th most points in the league with 13.9 per game, while connecting on a team-leading 37 made three-pointers this season.
- Emily Kutskel is fourth in the league in blocked shots with 1.4 rejections per game.
- Danielle Skedzielewski has started all 21 games for the Aggies, playing in 33.8 minutes and scoring 10.3 points per game and adding 5.3 rebounds for DelVal.
Against Delaware Valley All-Time: Against DelVal All-Time: Dating back to the 2008 season, King's is 15-8 against Delaware Valley, sweeping the series last season. The two teams have split the previous eight games, as both teams are 2-2 on both at home and on the road during that span. King's won the game earlier this season 70-45 down in Doylestown.
Up Next: King's will travel the five-minute drive down to Wilkes University on Saturday, February 9. All fans are encouraged to wear pink or purchase a Hoops for a Cure t-shirt ($10 short sleeve, $15 long sleeve) from one of the players on any of the teams. Both King's teams will also be supporting the Kay Yow Cancer fund with a free throw challenge during the month of February. Fans can support the teams by pledging a monetary amount for each Monarch free throw made during the month.
On Friday, February 8th all four teams will host a Play4Kay basketball clinic at the Scandlon Gymnasium on the campus of King's. The free clinic starts at 6:30 p.m. and runs to 8:30 p.m. It is open to all boys and girls grades kindergarten through 8th. Although there is no cost for the clinic, donations are welcome and will benefit the Play4Kay foundation.
