Last Time Out: Lebanon Valley's Veronica Venizia recorded two goals and a school-record 10 assists Tuesday evening, helping the Dutchmen to a 16-4 win over the King's College women's lacrosse team in play from Arnold Field on the campus of LVC.

Lebanon Valley (3-5) scored the first four goals of the game, as Emily Federowicz tallied at the 20:22 make on a helper from Venezia to take the 4-0 lead. King's (2-5) won the next draw control and would get on the board, as freshman Emily Sims batted in a loose ball right in front to make it 4-1 with 19:41 to play.

The Dutchmen answered with four more goals before Sims posted her second of the night at 2:43 to make it 9-2. LVC would pot three more goals just before halftime to take a 12-2 edge going into the intermission.

Freshman Natasha Koslop scored her ninth goal of the season after a turnover at the 13:49 mark of the second half, and Emma Lehman tallied her eighth of the season but it wasn't enough as Lebanon Valley locked up the home victory.

Sophomore goalkeeper Orla Cottell made eight saves on the night, adding a team-leading five ground balls, and Sims paced the Monarchs with a team-leading seven shots. Sims also posted two of the seven Monarch draw controls, and junior defender Kelly Pierce finished with three draw controls and a caused turnover.

Freshman Jen O'Connor didn't get on the scoresheet Tuesday, but still added a caused turnover and two draw controls. Junior Mia Dardanelli also finished with a forced turnover and two ground balls for the Monarchs, who were outshot 28-16 on the evening.

A Look At The Monarchs (2-5, 0-0 MAC Freedom):
  • The Monarchs continue to spread the wealth around on offense, as King's has six players with eight or more goals this season. Leading the way is Jen O'Connor with 12 goals, while Mary Kate Klodarska and Emily Sims each have 10.
  • King's has five players with 10 or more points on the campaign, led by O'Connor's 26 points thus far.
  • The Monarchs have been slow to start in road games this season, allowing 52 first-half goals over the first period in road or neutral site matches. King's is 0-5 on the road this year.
  • Klodarska is second on the team in scoring with 10 goals and seven assists, but was held scoreless her last time out against Lebanon Valley. She also is tied for the team-lead with two free position goals.
  • Emily Sims chalked up her third multi-goal performance on Tuesday against Lebanon Valley, and has a point in six of the seven games this season.
  • Junior Kelly Pierce continues to be the anchor of the defensive unit, leading the team with 11 caused turnovers while her 18 ground balls is second-best on the team.
  • Sophomore Emma Lehman has points in her last three, scoring four times over the past three games for the Monarchs.
  • Goalkeeper Orla Cottell made eight saves against Lebanon Valley Tuesday, and has eight or more stops in five of the seven games in 2019.
  • The Monarchs have had 11 players start in all seven games thus far, with the only change coming at defender where Chloe Rizzo and Helen Zaremba each have started three times with newcomer Kriston Mahon starting once.
  • This season, King's is averaging 21 draw controls in victories while earning just eight per contest in losses.
  • King's posted no assists at Lebanon Valley on Tuesday, which was the first time that a King's team has not recorded an assist in a game since the season finale against FDU-Florham in 2017.
A Look at the Warriors (1-6, 0-1 MAC Commonwealth):
  • Lycoming is looking to shake off a 16-12 loss to Marymount University on Sunday, March 17. Lycoming's lone win on the year came last Thursday, a 20-6 road win at Wesley College.
  • The Warriors are fourth in the MAC Commonwealth in scoring with 81 goals, while allowing the most tallies in the league with 117.
  • Lycoming does have one of the most dynamic players in the entire MAC, as Kelly McGinniss leads the conference on both sides with 5.29 goals per game, totaling 37 tallies through seven games.
  • The senior All-Region player is fifth in the country in goals, while her 5.29 tallies per game are the 15th most in the nation. She also leads all of NCAA women's lacrosse with 16 draw controls per game.
  • Erika Boyer is the feeder for the Warriors, as she has 12 assists and 17 points this year while teammate Hailey Kimble has 19 points but hasn't played in the last three games.
  • Defensively, Kim Rutherford plays both sides of the field and is tied for the team lead in caused turnovers with seven while adding 13 ground balls and seven tallies.
  • The Warriors normally split time in cage, as Jordyn Altland and Bailey Parchesky have both seen substantial time in net. Altland leads the team with 33 saves and a .311 save percentage, while Bailey Parchesky has allowed 44 goals on 79 shots faced.
  • Lycoming does struggle on clears though, failing on 25 of their 93 attempts this year.
Against Lyco All-Time: King's is 4-9 against the Warriors of Lycoming, but did earn a 14-13 win last season in Wilkes-Barre. King's is 2-3 in Williamsport all-time, with the last win for King's coming in 2013, a 15-14 victory. The series has featured a ton of runs, as Lycoming won the first five followed by three King's wins. Lyco won four straight before last year's Monarch victory.

Up Next: King's will make the trip to Juniata College Wednesday, March 27 for a 5 p.m. contest in Huntingdon, PA to take on the Eagles in non-conference action.
