ANNVILLE, PA (January 17, 2022) -- After pacing the King's College women's basketball team in a gritty week of play, junior Emily Morano was honored by the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) office on Monday afternoon as she was tabbed MAC Freedom Player of the Week.

Morano averaged 24 points per game, shooting 50% (18-for-36) from the field with 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game. In a gritty road loss at top-ranked DeSales, the junior posted a game-high 23 points with four boards, two assists, a block, and a steal. Then in a home 79-66 win over Arcadia, Morano shot 57.9% from the floor for 25 points, adding eight rebounds, three dimes, two steals, and a block.

The honor is Morano's second of the season and the second of her career with the Monarchs. She joins teammate Samantha Rajza who has also collected two weekly honors during the 2021-22 season.

King's will be in action on Wednesday evening as they host cross-town rival Wilkes University in MAC Freedom play at 6:00 p.m. in McGrane Gymnasium.
