King's Women's Basketball Picked Eighth in MAC Freedom Preseason Poll

NEWTOWN, PA (October 24, 2024) -- The final winter preseason poll was released on Thursday morning. In the 2024-25 Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freeedom) Women's Basketball Coaches' Preseason Poll, the King's College women's basketball team was picked to finish eighth as voted on by the conference coaches.

The 2024 MAC Freedom Runner-Ups from Arcadia took the top spot in the poll with 45 points and four out of the possible eight first-place votes, narrowly edging out six-time MAC Freedom Champions DeSales who finished second with 44 points and the other four remaining first-place votes. Stevens took third with 36 points, and Lebanon Valley rounded out the top four spots with 30 poitns.

King's was slated eighth with 10 points, just three points behind FDU-Florham in seventh. Delaware Valley in fifth (27 points) and Misericordia in sixth (19 points) finished off the remaining spots in the preseason poll.

The Monarchs return a core group from last season, including five that appeared in all 25 contests in the 2023-24 campaign. With the addition of several newcomers to the balanced roster, Head Coach Caitlin Hadzimichalis and the team are hard at work preparing for their upcoming season.

King's opens the 2024-25 slate at home against Penn State Schuylkill on Saturday, November 9 at 1:00 p.m. in McGrane Gymnasium before hitting the road for a three-game stint.
