READING, PA (December 7, 2024) -- The King's College men's indoor track and field team had a strong start to their 2024-25 indoor season as they competed in the Golden Wolves Rust Buster. At Alvernia University, the Monarchs recorded one individual win, 10 podium finishes, and five personal best marks.
On the Track
60 Meter Dash
In the preliminary heats,
Josh Malone took fourth in 7.40 seconds to qualify for a spot in the finals.
James Holzschuh crossed in a personal best time of 8.02 seconds, while Joeperun Giles had a time of 8.53 seconds.

In the finals, Malone placed fifth in a new personal best time of 7.34 seconds, six seconds faster than his preliminary heat time. Leo Tirado of Alvernia won the event in 7.23 seconds.

400 Meter Dash
Andrew Novrocki won the event in 51.12 seconds, while
Alek Gorski took third in 53.11 seconds.
Travis Lane also finished in the top five with a time of 54.96 seconds.

60 Meter Hurdles
Travis Lane was the lone Monarch in the event and finished seventh overall in 9.92 seconds. Ethan Stallone of Stevens won the event in 8.60 seconds.

In the Field
High Jump
Cody Miller placed second overall with a height of 1.83 meters, while
Travis Lane placed fourth as he cleared the 1.63 meter mark. Alvernia's Leo Tirado was the top finisher with a height of 1.83 meters.

Long Jump
Cody Miller earned his second runner-up finish in the meet as he posted a mark of 5.99 meters, while
James Holzschuh finished seventh with a jump of 5.37 meters. Joel Thomas of Alvernia won the event with a jump of 6.70 meters.

Shot Put
Travis Lane was the top Monarch in the event, finishing sixth with a toss of 11.37 meters.
Brady Rutkoski placed 10
th overall with a mark of 10.72 meters. Goucher's Nehemiah Covington won the event with a throw of 14.22 meters.

King's will be off for the holiday break before returning to action on Saturday, January 18 as they compete in the River Hawk Invitational at Susquehanna University.
