SELINSGROVE, PA (April 12, 2024) -- On day two of the River Hawk Multi and Invitational hosted by Susquehanna University,
Katey Shoemaker and
Victoria Zultevicz each set new outdoor program records, while three Monarchs won their respective events to highlight an excellent day of competition for the King's College outdoor track and field teams.

In the Field
Hammer Throw
Carnell Kemp placed second in the event with a personal best toss of 45.19 meters on his fourth attempt, while
Jet Li Tang took fourth with a mark of 41.28 meters on his final toss.
Jacob Martinez rounded out the Monarch throwers with a podium finish in seventh with a personal-best throw of 33.83 meters on his third attempt.

Katey Shoemaker won the event and set a new indoor program record with her throw of 52.07 meters on her sixth and final attempt, shattering the previous mark of 49.31 meters set by Taylor Runo at the 2019 MAC Championships. The remainder of the Monarchs followed suit as each thrower set a new personal best mark in the event.
Delaney Hilferty took second with a mark of 45.97 meters on her first throw, while
Anna Bellucci placed fourth with a toss of 44.24 meters on her first attempt. King's claimed the next three spots in the standings as
Caitlin Kirk finished seventh with a throw of 41.42 meters,
Brandy Varner placed eighth with a mark of 40.56 meters, and
Rhian Crowley claimed ninth with a toss of 39.47 meters.

Shot Put
Carnell Kemp won the shot put with a throw of 13.83 meters on his second attempt, while
Jacob Martinez took third with a throw of 12.37 meters on his final two tosses.
Jet Li Tang placed fifth with a mark of 11.66 meters on his final throw, while
Josh Brown with a throw of 9.78 meters and
Jev Brauer with a toss of 8.98 meters rounded out the Monarch competitors in the event.

Brandy Varner won the shot put with a throw of 11.80 meters on her third attempt, while
Delaney Hilferty and
Roni McClelland took fifth with a mark of 10.72 meters and sixth with a toss of 10.25 meters, respectively.
Caitlin Kirk rounded out the King's competitors with a mark of 9.69 meters on her third throw to place eighth.

Multi
Heptathlon
Victoria Zultevicz took second overall as she topped her previous program record of 3,713 points with a new total of 3,739 points. Zultevicz finished fourth in the long jump with a mark of 4.71 meters on her third attempt before taking sixth in the javelin throw with a personal-best mark of 23.23 meters on her second attempt. She rounded out the heptathlon with a fifth-place finish in the 800 meter run in 2:42.44.
