CHESTER, PA (May 3, 2024) --
Teone Sherrod made King's history on Friday afternoon, surpassing his previous program-record mark and taking gold in the men's high jump to highlight action on day two of the 2024 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships. After the second-day's events at Widener, the Monarch men are currently seventh with 26 points.

On the Track
100 Meter Dash
Jacob Mullery just missed a finals-qualifying time as he finished 11
th overall in 11.27 seconds. Misericordia's Richard Billings had the top time in the preliminary heats in 10.82 seconds.

200 Meter Dash
Jacob Mullery ran a personal best time of 23.04 seconds in the 200 meter dash. Misericordia's Richard Billings posted his second top time on the day in 21.33 seconds.

400 Meter Dash
The preliminary heats set up an exciting finals race tomorrow as
Andrew Novrocki took second in 48.41 seconds. Samuel Knowles of Widener holds the top time at 48.09 seconds.

4x100 Meter Relay
The King's men's team of
Jacob Mullery,
Andrew Novrocki,
Cody Miller, and
James Holzschuh qualified for a spot in tomorrow's finals, placing seventh overall in the preliminary heat in 43.37 seconds. The team from DeSales ran the best time in the preliminaries in 41.93 seconds.

In the Field
High Jump
Teone Sherrod secured the gold medal in the high jump with his first attempt at 1.93 meters before going on to record a new program record height of 1.96 meters for his final mark in the event.
Cody Miller also achieved a podium finish in fifth with a personal best height of 1.87 meters, while
Patrick Bennie finished with a mark of 1.67 meters.

Long Jump
James Holzschuh and
Cody Miller finished back-to-back in the long jump, as Holzschuh finished with a mark of 5.89 meters, while Miller posted a jump of 5.87 meters. Xavier Phoenix of DeSales won the long jump with a mark of 6.96 meters.

Discus Throw
Carnell Kemp landed a spot on the podium as he took fifth with a mark of 42.58 meters.
Jacob Martinez placed 10
th with a personal best throw of 40.68 meters, while
Josh Brown made his championship weekend debut with a toss of 36.08 meters. York's Andrew Mott was the top finisher with a throw of 52.43 meters.

Multis
Decathlon
Travis Lane brought home the silver medal in the decathlon with a program record of 5,857 points. He began the second day with a fourth-place finish in the 110 meter hurdles in 17.87 seconds before placing sixth in the discus throw with a mark of 30.13 meters. Lane claimed third in the pole vault as he cleared a height of 3.50 meters and came in second in the javelin throw with a personal best toss of 49.49 meters. He secured his silver medal with a second-place finish in the 1,500 meter run in 4:46.16. Brandon Kiefer of Stevens won the event with 6,024 points.
