Foytack, Novrocki Collect Silvers to Wrap Up 2024 MAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships

CHESTER, PA (May 4, 2024) -- The junior duo of Owen Foytack and Andrew Novrocki secured the final two medals on the weekend for the King's College men's outdoor track and field team on the final day of the 2024 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The Monarchs concluded their weekend at Widener in eighth place with 53 points. Lebanon Valley won the men's title with 162 points.
 
On the Track
400 Meter Dash

Andrew Novrocki topped his own program record on his way to a silver medal in the event, running a time of 47.82 seconds. Samuel Knowles of Widener won the finals race in 47.06 seconds.
 
1,500 Meter Run
Owen Foytack made his championship debut on Saturday afternoon and had a great finish in the final stretch of the race to secure the bronze medal in a program record time of 3:56.49 seconds. Jake Aylmer of Stevens won the event in 3:55.49 seconds.
 
4x100 Meter Relay
The Monarchs moved up a spot from the preliminary seeding to finish sixth overall as the team of Jacob Mullery, Andrew Novrocki, Cody Miller, and James Holzschuh crossed in 43.86 seconds. The team from Misericordia won the race in 41.92 seconds.
 
4x400 Meter Relay
King's had their second relay podium finish on the day in the 4x400 meter relay as Travis Lane, Owen Foytack, Jacob Mullery, and Andrew Novrocki placed fifth in a program record time of 3:26.07. Widener's team was the top finisher in 3:18.19.
 
In the Field
Triple Jump

Cody Miller finished just off the podium in the event, placing ninth overall with a mark of 12.83 meters, while Patrick Bennie posted a jump of 12.02 meters. James Holzschuh rounded out the trio with a distance of 11.50 meters. Widener's Matayo McGraw had the top mark at 14.95 meters.
 
Shot Put
Carnell Kemp earned a spot on the podium for the second time in the meet in the shot put, taking sixth overall with a throw of 13.60 meters. Jacob Martinez was next to place in 12th with a personal best toss of 13.11 meters, and Jet Li Tang rounded out the group with a mark of 9.97 meters. Andrew Mott from York won the event with a throw of 16.32 meters.
 
Javelin Throw
Travis Lane had a strong event as he finished fourth overall to earn a spot on the podium with a personal best throw of 50.76 meters. Lebanon Valley's Ian Paul won the event with a mark of 59.73 meters.

King's will be off for the upcoming weekend before several Monarchs prepare for Widener's Last Chance Meet on Monday, May 13.
