SELINSGROVE, PA (January 18, 2025) -- The King's College men's indoor track and field team returned to action on Saturday afternoon as they competed in the River Hawk Invitational hosted by Susquehanna University. The Monarchs finished with six top-eight performances in the meet.

On the Track
60 Meter Dash
Josh Malone was the top King's finisher as he placed fourth in his heat and 25
th overall in the field of 71 in 7.41 seconds. Joeperun Giles crossed in a personal best time of 8.27 seconds. Colson Lewis was the top finisher in the preliminary heats in 6.95 seconds.

200 Meter Dash
Joeperun Giles was the lone Monarch in the event as he finished in 28.91 seconds. Elliott Davis of Susquehanna won the event in 22.23 seconds.

800 Meter Run
Owen Foytack finished third overall in 2:02.39. Bloomsburg's Peter Tepper won the event in 2:00.59.

4x400 Meter Relay
The King's team of
Travis Lane,
Tyler Petty,
Owen Foytack, and Joey Rossi finished in 3:53.22. The University of Pennsylvania Track and Field Club team won the race in 3:38.18.

Distance Medley Relay
The King's team of
Preston Klem,
Andrew Novrocki,
Tyler Petty, and
Owen Foytack took second overall in 11:05.74, while the Monarch squad of Joey Rossi,
Alek Gorski,
Travis Lane, and
Logan Taylor placed sixth in 12:06.87. Marywood won the event in 10:31.55.

In the Field
High Jump
Cody Miller had a fourth-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.82 meters. The University of Pennsylvania's Edward Grill had the top mark of 1.97 meters.

Long Jump
Cody Miller recorded a mark of 5.82 meters on his first attempt of the day. Susquehanna's Austin Hurrell won the event with a mark of 6.99 meters on his final jump.

Pole Vault
Travis Lane was the top King's finisher as he placed fifth overall with a mark of 3.55 meters, while Nicholas Scalzo cleared a height of 3.25 meters. Ben VanVranken of Alfred State was the top finisher as he cleared the 4.00 meter mark.

Shot Put
Carnell Kemp led the Monarchs as he placed third with a toss of 13.31 meters on his first throw.
Travis Lane posted the next top mark at 11.31 meters on his second attempt, followed by
Gian Ovalles with a mark of 11.19 meters on his second toss.
Joseph Schneider recorded a toss of 10.79 meters on his third throw, and
Brady Rutkoski posted a mark of 10.50 meters on his first attempt.
Daniel Mattey rounded out the packed field with a throw of 10.46 meters on his third toss. Tyler Lantrip of Alfred State won the event with a mark of 13.57 meters.

Weight Throw
Carnell Kemp led a trio of Monarchs as he took sixth overall with a throw of 13.24 meters on his second attempt.
Brady Rutkoski recorded a mark of 11.10 meters on his second try, and
Joseph Schneider finished with a toss of 9.56 meters on his second throw. Eric Zalar of Lock Haven won the event with a throw of 16.14 meters.
