PHILADELPHIA ,PA (January 24, 2025) -- Owen Foytack broke his own record in the 3,000-meter run to highlight action on day one of Widener's Winter Evening Invite at The Ott Center at UPenn on Friday night.
 
On the Track
60 Meter Dash
Abigail Springer ran a time of 8.38 seconds to finish 28^th overall. Ramapo's Gbarper Dwah was the top finisher in 7.75 seconds.
 
200 Meter Dash
Abigail Springer crossed in 27.76 seconds. Widener's Mariam Koita posted the top time in 24.95 seconds.
 
Andrew Novrocki led two Monarchs in the event as he placed 13^th overall out of 43 competitors in 22.71 seconds, while Alek Gorski crossed in 23.48 seconds. Marlin Newsome Jr. from Bowie State posted the top time in 21.62 seconds.
 
400 Meter Dash
Ava Butcher finished in the top 20, placing 15^th in the field of 36 in an indoor personal best time of 1:03.13. Lincoln's Kamani Jones won the event in 55.05 seconds.
 
Andrew Novrocki dominated the event, placing second out of 38 in 49.35 seconds. Widener's Samuel Knowles was the individual finisher with a time of 48.37 seconds.
 
800 Meter Run
Preston Klem led a pair of Monarchs in the event as he finished 26^th out of 40 in 2:03.13, while Tyler Petty was next to cross in 2:03.68. Muhlenberg's David Seel won the event in 1:55.80.
 
3,000 Meter Run
Owen Foytack took 12^th out of the field of 33 in the 3,000-meter run in a new indoor program record time of 8:49.56, topping his own previous record of 9:04.79 from the River Hawk Invitational last January. Tommy Li of Johns Hopkins won the race in 8:29.74.
 
60 Meter Hurdles
Victoria Zultevicz 15^th out of 34 competitors as she posted a time of 10.04 seconds. Aisha Carrington of Lincoln finished with a top time of 8.85 seconds.
 
In the Field
Pole Vault
Travis Lane cleared a height of 3.80 meters in the event. Rowan's Tyler Raimondi was the top finisher as he cleared the 4.55-meter mark.

The Monarchs will be back in action tomorrow afternoon as the throwers will compete on day two of the Invite at Widener's Schwartz Athletic Center. Competition is set to begin at 12:00 p.m.
