WILKES-BARRE, PA (October 23, 2025) -- The King's College football team hits the road to take on  Lebanon Valley College in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) battle this Saturday, with kickoff slated for 1:00 p.m. The Monarchs look to carry the energy from last Saturday's dominant 52-0 victory over Alvernia into this weekend's matchup. Turning to the hosts, the Flying Dutchmen return home on the heels of a 34-14 win at Widener last week.

The Coaches: Mike Cebrosky is in his second season as the head coach of the Monarchs. Cebrosky led the team through their historic 2024 season, featuring a 10-2 overall record, perfect 9-0 mark in the MAC, the first outright MAC title in program history, and berth to the NCAA Division III Football Championships. He was named MAC Coach of the Year while also coaching a program-best 20 All-MAC honorees, highlighted by two-time MAC Offensive Player of the Year Russell Minor-Shaw, six D3football.com All-Region players, and Zach Barber as a D3football.com All-American. Chris Thompson is in his first season as the Interim Head Football Coach at Lebanon Valley College, having assumed the role in February 2025 while continuing to serve as the team's Quarterbacks Coach. Thompson has been with the Dutchmen program since 2021, previously holding the role of Offensive Coordinator over the preceding four seasons. He also worked as an Offensive Assistant at Lebanon Valley in 2004. With a coaching and football-executive career that spans over two decades - including more than 15 years at the professional level across the NFL, XFL, AFL, NAL, AAF and IFL -  Thompson brings extensive experience to the program.
 
 
Looking at Lebanon Valley: The Dutchmen have provided strong performances through the midway point of the MAC schedule - averaging 335 total yards of offense per game, including 193.8 rushing yards per contest. In the backfield, junior running back Dion Bryant has rushed for over 620 yards on 106 carries, averaging 5.9 yards per rush and ranking among the conference's rushing leaders. Quarterback Logan Klitsch has thrown for 836 yards on 124 attempts with seven touchdowns. Wide receiver Alex Vassallo has been a reliable target, leading the team in receiving yards and averaging 14.3 yards per catch. LVC has also proven efficient in the red zone, converting on 85.0% of their 17 total trips inside the 20-yard line. On the defensive side, the Dutchmen have allowed an average of 300.0 yards per game. Carter Foust and Luke Pollock have smothered their opponents, sharing the team with 36.0 total tackles. The Lebanon Valley secondary leads the MAC with 10 interceptions, highlighted by Foust, who has four picks including a 90-yard touchdown return.
 
 
Away Threads: The Monarchs will hit the turf sporting white jerseys with gold pants along with their traditional gold helmets.
 
Single Digit Tough: The Monarchs award single digits, and now double digits to offensive linemen, based on merit and leadership and are retained throughout their time at King's.  The 2025 roster returned two single-digit members from 2024 in Tyler Carey and Brenann Robinson and have added five so far in 2025. The Monarchs now have seven Single Digit Tough players: Xander Murray (0), Jayon Hailey (1), Tyler Carey (3), Brennan Robinson (6), Michael Richino (8), James Mangine (9) and Kaleb Beers (55).
 
A Look at the Monarchs:
  • The Monarchs are on a three-year stretch of post-game appearances and record-breaking numbers and look to continue the trend in 2025.
  • King's looks to replace 16 All-MAC honorees from 2025 while returning First Team running back Brennan Robinson, Second Team running back Jayon Hailey and special teamer Jacob Mullery, and Honorable Mention offensive lineman Kaleb Beers. They'll also replace all six D3football.com All Region recipients and D3football.com All-American Zach Barber.
  • The staff stands at 15 members, including six alumni in Ben Bakanas, Will Cameron, Mike Karycinski, Sean Lavine, Brendan Mozeleski, and EJ Schreiner.
  • King's was tied for first in the MAC Preseason Poll with Delaware Valley among the 10 conference schools. Lebanon Valley was seventh with 25 points, behind FDU-Florham and ahead of Misericordia.
  • The Monarchs' success on the ground continues to fuel their offense, as they've now eclipsed 200 rushing yards as a team in each of their three victories this season. At the forefront of the rushing attack, Brennan Robinson continues to set the standard in the MAC, averaging 130.7 rushing yards per game and a conference-best 7.5 yards per carry.
  • Jayon Hailey leads the Monarchs through the air, ranking fourth in the MAC with 58.5 receiving yards per game. He has totaled eight touchdowns this season, with four receiving and four rushing, ranking third in the conference and standing as the only player in the MAC with multiple scores in both categories.
  • On special teams, the Monarchs have continued to make an impact, registering a block for the second week in a row with a blocked punt against Alvernia last weekend.
  • King's is the only team in the MAC with a kickoff return touchdown this season and leads the conference with a 26.9-yard average per return.
  • The Monarchs' defense has been a force this season, with three players ranking among the MAC's top tacklers. James Rush leads the way with 44 total tackles, averaging 7.0 per game and ranking sixth in the conference. Michael Richino follows closely with 42 tackles, also averaging 7.0 per game and ranking seventh, while Zach Hulsizer ranks ninth with 40 tackles and a 6.7 per-game average.
  • Bryan Kelly continues to anchor the Monarchs' secondary, leading the MAC with 10 pass breakups. Senior DB Jayden Farmer stepped up in a big way against Alvernia, logging an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery last weekend. James Mangine and Xander Murray are the other two King's defenders to record an interception this season.
Up Next: The Monarchs return home to McCarthy Stadium next Saturday for Senior Day, where they will host Albright in the final home game of the season. Kickoff against the Lions is set for 1:00 p.m.
