SCRANTON, PA (November 23, 2025) – The King's College men's swimming team concluded their time at the three-day Electric City Invitational, Sunday morning at the Marywood Aquatics Center. The Monarchs finished third out of five teams with a combined score of 482 points. Wilkes University won the meet, scoring 957 points.
Stefan Lakoseljac,
Matthew Maciejczyk and Julien Zoquier all qualified for the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships with personal best times while
Connor Scheckner broke the school record in the 100-yard backstroke - previously held by Bryce Groshardt - with a time of 52.69.
During the first session, the squad of Scheckner,
Kyle McDevitt,
Chase Kubis and
Stefan Lakoseljac placed third out of eight teams in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:41.53.
In the 1650-yard freestyle, Christopher Dutko and
Christopher Maciejczyk finished sixth and seventh respectively touching the block at 20:01.72 and 21:31.20. The group of Scheckner, McDevitt, Kubis, and Lakoseljac wrapped up day one of the invitational by finishing second out of eight teams in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a team best time of 1:29.75.
During session two, Dutko claimed eighth in the 500-yard freestyle, touching the wall at 5:34.39.
Scheckner continued his dominance with a win in the 200-yard IM in 1:59.23. In the 50-yard freestyle, the first year earned second with a time of 22.20 while Kubis swam to fourth in 22.73. McDevitt and Lakoseljac additionally placed 12th and 13th in the event with times of 23.87 and 24.00, and Lakoseljac's performance was enough to qualify for MACS.
Kubis swam a personal best in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:54.51, placing fourth. Julien Zoquier qualified for MACs in the 100-yard breaststroke with a 12
th place finish, touching the wall in 1:11.24. Ahead of Zoquier was Kubis, as he claimed sixth with a personal best time of 1:06.75.
In the final event of session two, the team of McDevitt, Kubis, Scheckner and Dutko recorded a time of 7:46.52 to claim third in the 800-yard freestyle relay.
In the third and final session, Kubis continued his dominance with a win in the 100-yard freestyle, swimming to the wall in 50.59. McDevitt claimed eighth by recording a personal best time of 53.85 and Lakoseljac touched the block in eleventh with personal best of 54.72.
M. Maciejczyk and
David Guillen-Duran posted personal bests in two separate events as well. Guillen-Duran swam a time of 2:57.10 to finish eighth in the 200-yard backstroke, while M. Maciejczyk placed ninth in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:35.87, earning an invite to the MAC's in the process.
King's ended the invitational placing third in the 400-yard freestyle, as the group Scheckner, McDevitt, Kubis, and Lakoseljac posted a time of 3:25.91.
The Monarchs return to the pool on December 5 to face off against Gallaudet University in the Scandlon Natatorium at 5:00 p.m.
