Foytack Tops Mile Record; Ovalles and Hilferty Record Personal Best on Day Two of the Bison Open & Multi

LEWISBURG, PA (February 1, 2025) -- Owen Foytack broke his own record in the indoor miler, while Gian Ovalles and Delaney Hilferty hit personal best marks to lead the King's College indoor track teams on day two of Bucknell's Bison Open & Multi.
 
On the Track
800 Meter Run

Owen Foytack finished 14th in the field of 24 in 2:03.13. Ian Sherlock of Shippensburg was the top finisher in 1:55.64.
 
Mile
Owen Foytack placed third overall in a new program record time of 4:20.21, topping his previous time of 4:23.74 from the Big Apple Invitational in 2024. Alexander Simpson won the event in 4:19.18.
 
In the Field
Shot Put

On the men's side, Carnell Kemp finished first for King's, placing 12th overall with a mark of 13.57 meters on his second attempt, while Gian Ovalles recorded a personal best toss of 12.35 meters on his third toss. The host Bucknell's Braiden Pulver won the shot put with a throw of 15.34 meters.
 
Weight Throw
Carnell Kemp led King's in the event with a toss of 12.70 meters on his second try, while Gian Ovalles finished with a personal best throw of 9.73 meters on his first attempt. Marcus Disbrow
 
Delaney Hilferty finished second overall in the weight throw with a personal best mark of 15.38 meters on her third try. Prizila Negrete won the event with a throw of 17.21 meters.

The Monarchs are back in action next weekend as they are set to compete in the Frank Colden Invitational hosted by Ursinus College on Saturday, February 8.
