Springer, Butcher, Foytack Top Own Previous Program Records on Day Two of Nazareth's D3 Elite Meet

ROCHESTER, NY (February 15, 2025) -- A trio of Monarchs broke their own individual program records on Saturday afternoon as the King's College men's and women's indoor track and field teams took on the second day of the D3 Elite Meet hosted by Nazareth University.
 
On the Track
200 Meter Dash

Abigail Springer led a trio of Monarchs as she placed 16th overall in a program-record time of 27.20 seconds, edging out her previous time of 27.22 seconds from this year's Golden Wolves Rust Buster. Ava Butcher finished in 27.95 seconds, while Victoria Zultevicz rounded out the group with a time of 28.21 seconds. Brockport's Marissa Wise took first in 25.44 seconds.
 
Andrew Novrocki was the first to cross for the Monarchs in the event, placing 12th in 22.78 seconds, while Alek Gorski finished in 23.87 seconds. Sam Ahern from Union put up the best time in 21.93 seconds.
 
400 Meter Dash
Ava Butcher finished in the top half of the competitors in 13th with a time of 1:02.04, topping her previous mark of 1:02.70 from last weekend's Frank Colden Invitational. Marissa Wise of Brockport was the first to cross in 58.02 seconds.
 
On the men's side, Andrew Novrocki placed fifth with a time of 49.96 seconds, while Alek Gorski took 13th as he crossed in a personal best time of 51.91 seconds. Grove City's Alexander Mitchell won the event in 49.23 seconds.
 
800 Meter Run
Tyler Petty ran a strong race as he finished in 2:04.17. RIT's John Elliott was the top finisher in 1:54.95.
 
Mile
Owen Foytack won the men's mile in a new program-record time of 4:16.48, just over one whole second faster than the second-place finisher. He beat out his previous record of 4:20.21 from the Bison Open and Multi two weekends ago.
 
60 Meter Hurdles
Victoria Zultevicz finished third overall in the finals heat in 9.53 seconds. Oneonta's Jaiden Schrag won the event in 9.15 seconds.
 
In the Field
Shot Put

Brandy Varner had a top-15 finish, taking 13th with a mark of 11.39 meters on her first attempt. SUNY Geneseo's Zoe Connor had the top mark at 12.93 meters.

The Monarchs will look to make their final preparations for the 2025 MAC Indoor Track & Field Championships as they are set to compete at Cornell's Marc Deneault Invitational next Saturday, February 22.
