Indoor Track and Field Concludes 2025 MAC Indoor Championships with Four Medals, Program-Best Women's Team Finish

READING, PA (March 1, 2025) -- The King's College indoor track and field teams wrapped up a successful weekend on Saturday with day two of the 2025 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships at Alvernia University. The Monarchs secured four medals, had 13 podium finishes, broke two records, and set five new personal bests.
 
The women's team had a great weekend as they placed fifth out of the 14 scoring teams with a program-record 65.5 points, while the men's team placed 10th out of the 15 scoring teams with 29 points.
 
On the Track
60 Meter Dash

Abigail Springer finished sixth overall in the finals with a time of 8.12 seconds. Maria Muzzarelli of Widener won the event in 7.72 seconds.
 
Jacob Mullery placed seventh overall in 7.13 seconds. Ni'Male Greenwod of Eastern was the top finisher in 6.84 seconds.
 
200 Meter Dash
Abigail Springer finished in the top 20, taking 15th overall in 27.64 seconds. Widener's Maria Muzzarelli won the event in 25.57 seconds.
 
Andrew Novrocki led King's in the event as he placed 13th overall in 23.06 seconds, while Jacob Mullery had a time of 23.33 seconds to finish 19th. Misericordia's Richard Billings was the top finisher in 22.11 seconds.
 
400 Meter Dash
Ava Butcher had a podium performance, finishing fourth overall in a new indoor program record time of 1:00.92 to top her previous time of 1:02.04 from the D3 Elite Meet earlier this season. Isabella Shanley of Stevens won the title in 58.78 seconds.
 
Andrew Novrocki brought home bronze in the event in 50.33 seconds, while Alek Gorski finished just off the podium in 10th place with a time of 52.00 seconds. Samuel Knowles of Widener won the race in 49.02 seconds.
 
800 Meter Run
Owen Foytack had his second podium finish of the meet as he placed eighth overall in 1:58.34. Preston Klem and Tyler Petty finished back-to-back, with Klem crossing in 2:03.61 and Petty finishing in 2:03.79. Lebanon Valley's Elijah McKell won the event in 1:55.74.
 
Mile
Owen Foytack opened the track events of the day with a second-place finish in the mile in 4:20.60. Lebanon Valley's Rory Lieberman was the top finisher in 4:20.10.
 
60 Meter Hurdles
Victoria Zultevicz finished fourth overall in the finals in 9.49 seconds. Kayla Robinson of Widener won the event in 9.10 seconds.
 
4x400 Meter Relay
The team of Alek Gorski, Jordan Jones, Jacob Mullery, and Andrew Novrocki earned a spot on the podium with a fifth-place finish in 3:31.85. Misericordia won the event in 3:24.73.
 
4x800 Meter Relay
The women's team of Julia Johnson, Ava Butcher, Lindsey Eyer, and Cecilia Chipriano placed fifth overall in 10:15.73. Messiah's team won the event in 9:52.63.
 
The King's team of Owen Foytack, Tyler Petty, Preston Klem, and John Gillespie finished in 8:53.10. Lebanon Valley's team won in 7:58.11.
 
In the Field
High Jump

Cody Miller took 10th in the event as he cleared a height of 1.68 meters.  Matayo McGraw of Widener was the top finisher with a mark of 2.01 meters.
 
Pole Vault
Victoria Zultevicz made it on the podium, finishing sixth overall as she cleared a height of 3.15 meters. Alexis Merola of Stevens won the event with a mark of 3.35 meters.
 
Triple Jump
Kival Clarke set a new indoor program record with a jump of 13.17 meters on his third attempt to finish ninth overall, while Jordan Jones finished with a personal best mark of 12.41 meters on his third try. Matayo McGraw of Widener was the top finisher with a jump of 15.12 meters.
 
Shot Put
Brandy Varner secured her second medal in the weekend as she brought home silver with a mark of 11.93 meters on her fourth throw, while Caitlin Kirk had a podium finish in seventh with a personal best toss of 11.07 meters on her fifth attempt. Delaney Hilferty finished 11th with a toss of 10.59 meters on her third try, and Sophia Lukowski placed 12th with a mark of 10.52 meters on her second attempt. Roni McClelland wrapped up a strong event for King's in 16th with a throw of 9.94 meters on her second try.
 
Carnell Kemp led King's in the event as he finished 11th overall with a throw of 13.35 meters on his third attempt, while Gian Ovalles had a toss of 11.35 meters on his first try. York's Andrew Mott was the top finisher with a throw of 16.95 meters.
 
Multis
Pentathlon

Victoria Zultevicz finished the event with a personal best 2,766 points to place third overall. She started the event with a first-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.34 seconds before recording a height of 1.32 meters in the high jump. Zultevicz placed third in the shot put with a mark of 9.40 meters and took third in the long jump with a jump of 4.77 meters. She concluded the event with a time of 2:46.69 to finish fifth in the 800-meter run. Anna Sawicki of Lebanon Valley was the top finisher with 3,331 points and three first-place finishes.

King's will set its sights on the upcoming AARTFC Regional Indoor Championships hosted by Ithaca College, starting on Friday, March 7.
