Foytack Sets New Record; Klem Posts Personal Best as King's Competes at Bucknell Outdoor Classic

LEWISBURG, PA (April 12, 2025) -- Owen Foytack topped his own record in the 1,500 meter run, and Preston Klem set a personal best in the 800 meter run to highlight action on day one of the Bucknell Outdoor Classic out in Lewisburg, Pa.
 
On the Track
800 Meter Run

Preston Klem led a pair of Monarchs as he crossed in a personal best time of 1:57.17 to take 78th in the packed field of 141 and second in his heat, and Tyler Petty finished in 1:58.37. Kasen Jeitz of Division I Army West Point won the event in 1:48.93.
 
1,500 Meter Run
Owen Foytack finished 38th out of 82 runners set a new program record in the event in 3:54.76, topping his previous time of 3:56.49 from the 2024 MAC Championships. Mike Formica of Indiana (Pa.) was the first to cross in 3:45.62.
 
In the Field
High Jump

Maddy Armitage tied for eighth overall with a height of 1.53 meters. Ally Richwine of Shippensburg was the top finisher with a height of 1.63 meters.
 
Long Jump
Jordan Jones posted a mark of 6.28 meters on his first attempt to place 24th overall out of 41 jumpers. Akeem Mustapha of Point Park won the event with a jump of 7.35 meters.
 
Discus Throw
Carnell Kemp finished with a mark of 42.50 meters on his third attempt. Division II East Stroudsburg's Cole Gorham was the top finisher with a throw of 55.65 meters.
 
Brandy Varner placed ninth overall out of 41 throwers with a mark of 42.26 meters on her third attempt, while Delaney Hilferty finished with a toss of 33.04 meters on her first try. Delaware's Olamide Ayeni won the event with a mark of 51.49 meters.
 
Shot Put
Brandy Varner took 27th overall out of 41 in the event with a toss of 12.07 meters on her second attempt, while Cailtin Kirk finished with a throw of 11.33 meters on her third try. Emily Fink from Division I Army West Point had the top mark at 15.40 meters.

Action is set to resume tomorrow morning at 10:30 a.m. for day two of the Bucknell Outdoor Classic.
