NEWTOWN, PA (August 20, 2025) -- The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) office posted their field hockey Coaches' Preseason Poll on Wednesday morning. In the newest poll, the King's College field hockey team was picked to finish eighth with eight points in the MAC Freedom Coaches' Preseason Poll.
The two-time defending champions from Stevens earned the top spot with 49 points and all seven possible first-place votes. Lebanon Valley and Arcadia are both tied for second with 39 points apiece. DeSales rounded out the top four with 32 points.
The Monarchs were slotted eighth, only six points behind seventh-ranked Delaware Valley with 14 points. Misericordia in fifth (26 points) and FDU-Florham in sixth (23 points) wrapped up the 2025 MAC Freedom Field Hockey Coaches' Preseason Poll.
King's brings back a group with a ton of experience for first year head coach Kirby Szalkowski, as eight players that all appeared in at least 16 of the 19 contests are returning in 2025. The Monarchs are led by juniorÂ
Davina Krappa who helped pace the offense with eight points on three goals and two assists last year, earning All-MAC Freedom Honorable Mention honors. Also returning for the Monarchs are
Shaylee Heffron and
Katey Shoemaker, who tallied seven and four points respectively in 2024.
King's women's soccer opens the 2025 regular season at home in McCarthy Stadium on August 29
th as they are set to host the Rangers of Drew University at 7:00 pm.
