WILKES-BARRE, PA (January 24, 2025) -- The King's College men's swimming team defeated Moravian University 155-58 to win their fifth-straight home meet, Saturday afternoon at the Scandlon Natatorium. The victory puts the Monarchs at 10-7 overall with an undefeated 5-0 mark at home, while the Greyhounds now sit at 0-8 overall.

The team began their day with a Senior Day ceremony honoring
Stefan Lakoseljac prior to the meet. Lakoseljac delivered a strong showing on his special day, emerging victorious in the 100-yard butterfly with a personal best time of 1:00.19. Â

Connor Scheckner showed an impressive performance, clinching three individual wins while breaking three pool records in the process. In the 100-yard backstroke, Scheckner swam a time of 53.87, while adding first-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard IM with times of 1:57.12 and 2:00.09, respectively.

In the 1,000-yard freestyle,
Chris Dutko was triumphant in 11:47.89 as his teammate
Matthew Maciejczyk finished behind him at 14:03.69.
Chase Kubis earned second in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:56.63 while Lakoseljac finished third in 2:11.52.

Kyle McDevitt won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:07.64 and
Julian Zoquier placed second with a personal best time of 1:09.94. In the 50-yard freestyle, Kubis was crowned the winner at 22.93 while teammates Lakoseljac and McDevitt finished third and fourth respectively at 24.92 and 25.80.

Kubis continued his dominance by winning his third event of the day, swimming to the wall in 51.14 in the 100-yard freestyle. In the 200-yard breaststroke, McDevitt won the event in 2:37.64 while Zoquier touched the block in 2:43.26 to earn third.

In the 500-yard Freestyle, Dutko placed second in 5:36.05 while
Christopher Maciejczyk placed third with a personal best time of 6:03.08.
The Monarchs capped off the day with a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay, as the squad of Kubis, Dutko, McDevitt, and Scheckner swam a time of 1:34.36.

King's returns to the Scandlon Natatorium next week on January 31 to compete in the Red and Gold meet at 1:00 p.m.
