WILKES-BARRE, PA (February 24, 2026) -- With the 2026 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships three days away, the King's College men's and women's programs are gearing up for a strong showing. This year's championship meet returns to Alvernia University and The PLEX, where the Monarchs will look to make their mark amongst the conference's best.
The Pre-Championship Coaches' Poll, released on Tuesday, has the King's women projected to finish eighth among the 16 MAC programs, while the men were picked ninth. With several Monarchs entering the weekend ranked among the conference leaders, King's will look to turn those projections into podium finishes and bring hardware back to Wilkes-Barre.
Action gets underway Friday at 12:15 p.m. with the heptathlon 60-meter dash and the women's weight throw. Competition resumes Saturday morning at 9:45 a.m., beginning with the pentathlon 60-meter hurdles. On the Track
60 Meter Dash
Jacob Mullery is seeded 16
th in the MAC after posting a season‑best 7.15 last weekend at Cornell's Marc Deneault Invitational. Misericordia's Jacob Hunter holds the top seed at 6.96, recorded at the Spartan Invitational on January 9.
First‑year
Ali Butcher is seeded 15
th in the women's 60‑meter dash after running 8.25 at the Marc Deneault Invitational. She will make her MAC Indoor Championships debut, while Arcadia's Sadie Nugent enters as the top seed at 7.81.

200 Meter Dash
On the men's side,
Jacob Mullery enters the MAC Championships seeded 16th in the 200 with a time of 23.22 from last weekend's Marc Deneault Invitational. He will be joined by teammate
Alek Gorski, who qualified with a 23.50 from the SU Valentine Invite. Delaware Valley's Victor Cruz leads the MAC at 22.21.
King's will field three athletes in the women's 200.
Ava Butcher enters as the fifth seed after breaking the school record with a 26.95 at the Marc Deneault Invitational. She will be joined by her sister,
Ali Butcher, seeded 12th at 27.37, and
Kat Smith, who posted a 28.04 at the SU Valentine Invite. Lebanon Valley's Ava Matter holds the top seed at 26.46.

400 Meter Dash
Sophomore
Alek Gorski returns to the MAC Championships in the 400 as the sixth seed after a personal‑best 51.21 at the Marc Deneault Invitational. Stevenson's Fabrice Saint Hillien leads the field at 50.03.
On the women's side, King's features two top‑10 entrants.
Ava Butcher enters seeded fourth after setting another school record — this time at 59.99. Graduate student
Kat Smith ranks 10th at 1:02.47. Stevens' Isabella Shanley holds the MAC's top time at 59.36.

800 Meter Run
Sophomore
Preston Klem leads the King's contingent in the 800 as the 11th seed with his season‑best 1:58.27 from the Nazareth Challenge Cup. Graduate student
Owen Foytack follows as the 17th seed after a 1:59.98 at the Hounds Classic. First‑year
Ryan Baxter qualified with a time of 2:01.47, also from the Nazareth Challenge Cup. Messiah's John Condon enters as the top seed at 1:54.07.

Mile
Owen Foytack enters the MAC Championships in the mile with the top seeding time of 4:07.41, a school-record performance that converts to 4:10.58, still eight seconds faster than the second seed.
Preston Klem, seeded fourth with a time of 4:20.03, will run alongside Foytack, giving King's two runners in the top five and a strong chance to medal in the event.

3000 Meter Run
Foytack also enters the 3000 as the sixth seed. His school‑record 8:40.83 from the Nittany Lion Challenge puts him in position to contend, while Messiah's Louka Fetter leads the field at 8:33.18.

Josh Malone enters the MAC Championships in the 60-meter hurdles tied for seventh after setting a school record of 8.80 last weekend at the Marc Deneault Invitational. The field is led by Eastern's Ian Hopkins, who recorded a top time of 8.22 last weekend at Haverford.

4x200 Meter Relay
The men's 4x200 relay enters seeded eighth after setting a school record of 1:34.32 at the SU Valentine Invite. The quartet of

Jordan Jones, Sean Galavage, and
Alek Gorski aim to push top‑seeded Eastern, which posted a 1:31.90 at the Haverford Keogh Invitational.
The women's 4x200 relay enters as the second seed after running a school‑record 1:48.74 at the SU Valentine Invite. The lineup of

Kat Smith,
Erin McLean, and
Ali Butcher will look to challenge top‑seeded Lebanon Valley, which ran a 1:48.29 at the same meet.

Ali Butcher enters seeded third after setting a school record of 4:17.15 at the Frank Colden Invitational. Stevens leads the event at 4:08.03.

The DMR squad of Foytack, Glaude, Klem, and Wnuk enters seeded third with a 10:47.96 from the Hounds Classic. Messiah leads at 10:16.46.

High Jump
Cody Miller,
Robert Santos, and
Philliph Oden will represent King's in the men's high jump. Miller enters tied for fifth at 1.90 meters, Santos is tied for 17th at 1.78, and Oden qualified at 1.73. Widener's Matayo McGraw leads the field at 2.05 meters.
On the women's side, Abigail Thompson leads the Monarchs tied for seventh at 1.48 meters.
Avery Kosloski is tied for 12th at 1.45, and
Dani Rimsky enters at 1.42. Stevens' Maggie Previglian tops the list at 1.67 meters.

Jordan Jones leads King's into championship weekend as the top seed after a school record leap of 6.89 meters at the Frank Colden Invitational. He'll be joined by
Kival Clarke, who enters with a mark of 6.22 meters from the Nazareth Challenge Cup, and
Philliph Oden, whose best jump of 6.13 meters came at the Marc Deneault Invitational.
Soyer DeLucy will compete for King's in the women's long jump with a mark of 4.86 meters from the Marc Deneault Invitational. Lebanon Valley's Omotola Oyinkolade is the top seed at 5.38 meters from the Scarlet Knight Open.

Kival Clarke enters the conference championship ranked 10th in the triple jump with a best of 13.45 meters. Widener's Matayo McGraw leads the field at 15.62 meters.
For the women,
Soyer DeLucy and
McKenzie Bannon qualified with marks of 9.51 and 9.49 meters. DeSales' Brooke Signorella leads the event at 11.31 meters.
Shot Put
Daniel Mattey qualified for the championship in the shot put with a mark of 12.59 meters, while Nathan Bowman of Messiah enters as the top seed at 16.77 meters.
Brandy Varner leads the women's shot put field as the top seed with a mark of 13.68 meters from the Nazareth Challenge Cup.
Caitlin Kirk enters as the 11
th seed with a throw of 10.94 meters, while
Nayeli Moliere is the 12
th seed at 10.92 meters, giving the Monarchs three qualifiers in the event.
Weight Throw
Brady Rutkoski and
Jacob Martinez will compete for King's in the men's weight throw, with Rutkoski posting a mark of 13.59 meters and Martinez qualifying with 13.53 meters. The top seed entering the weekend is Stephen Gihr from Misericordia at 17.38 meters.
On the women's side,
Brandy Varner enters as the top seed with a school record mark of 17.37 meters from the Frank Colden Invitational, leading the field by 0.8 meters.
Caitlin Kirk and Katelyn Shoemaker also qualified, ranked third and fourth with marks of 15.55 and 15.53 meters, while
Nayeli Moliere enters with a throw of 11.44 meters.
