Foytack Takes Gold, King’s Sets Another School Record on Day Two of MAC Indoor Championships

READING, PA (February 28, 2026) – The King's College men's track and field team returned to action Saturday for day two of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Tom and Helen Flynn Complex, hosted by Alvernia University. The Monarchs placed 10th overall with 31 points, highlighted by two school records and a gold medal performance.

In the field, Kival Clarke placed ninth with a personal-best triple jump of 13.36 meters. In the shot put, Daniel Mattey recorded a throw of 11.60 meters to finish 26th.

On the track, Alek Gorski placed seventh overall by crossing the line in 51.51 in the 400-meter dash.

After finishing second in the mile at last year's MAC Championships, Owen Foytack returned to the top spot, winning the event in 4:18.15. Preston Klem placed ninth in 4:26.79, narrowly missing the scoring podium by 0.14 seconds. Foytack later added another podium performance in the 3,000 meters, finishing sixth in 8:52.95.

Josh Malone continued his strong second day in the heptathlon by winning the 60-meter hurdles in 8.97. He followed with an 11th-place finish in the pole vault at 2.90 meters and closed the event with an eighth-place run in the 1,000 meters in 3:09.83. Malone totaled 3,822 points to place ninth overall.

The Monarchs set another school record by breaking the 4 x 800-meter relay mark, as the team of Ben Wnuk, Ryan Baxter, Preston Klem, and Owen Foytack finished sixth with a time of 8:19.76. Their performance improved on the previous record of 8:46.25, set by Daniel Michals, Sean Doherty, Nilang Suthar, and Michael Havrilla at the 2018 MAC Indoor Championships, by 26.49 seconds.

King's returns to action at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Championships on Friday, March 6, at The Nike Track & Field Center at the Armory in New York, NY with the start time set for 10:00 a.m.
