WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 25, 2026) -- The King's College men's track and field team competed in their final regular season spring outdoor track and field meet on a rainy Saturday morning with some first place finishes and strong performances as the team hosted the Monarch Open Invitational at the Betzler Outdoor Track and Field Stadium.
The men's side additionally honored three graduating athletes –
Jev Brauer,
John Gillespie, and
Cody Miller – following the conclusion of Saturday's meet.
In the track events, the quartet of
Kival Clarke,
Dary Pichardo,
Evan Galavage, and
Jacob Mullery kicked off the day by winning the 4x 100 meter relay at 44.14 seconds.
In the 1,500 meter run, Joesph Rossi earned second place with a personal best time of 4:26.37, nearly a second quicker than his previous time. Teammates Vincent Fazzino and Noah Kolinvosky placed ninth and thirteenth respectively, as Fazzino ran a time of 4:49.00 and Kolinovsky crossed the line in 5:11.93.
Josh Malone came in first in the 110 meter hurdles as he stopped the clock at 16.50 seconds.
Casimir Glaude placed second overall in the 400 meter dash at 53.11 seconds, while teammate Jarrett Hoch posted a time of 54.42 to receive fourth, and
Victor Cocchiaro secured eleventh with a time of 1:00.44.
In the 100 meter dash,
Nathan Patla finished eighth at 12.38 seconds, while
James Mann finished in 15th at 13.55 seconds.
Cohen Claar,
Ben Wnuk, and
Ryan Baxter earned first, second and third in the 800 meter run, as Claar ran a time of 2:01.48, Wnuk crossed the line in 2:02.57, and Baxter posted a time of 2:02.67.
John Gillespie took tenth overall with a season best time of 2:13.05.
In the 200 meter dash, Mullery placed first at 23. 22 seconds while teammate Galavage finished behind him in second at 23.34 seconds. Pichardo finished in seventh at 24.16 seconds and Cocchiaro earned eleventh at 25.31 seconds.
Sebastian Williams ended the track event by posting a time of 11:25.88 in the 3,000 meter steeple chase to earn first in the event.
In the field events,
Brady Rutkoski won the hammer throw with a personal best toss of 44.29 meters, .24 meters better than his original record.
Joey Schneider placed second overall with a personal best toss of 42.02 meters, 2.04 meters better than his previous standard.
Daniel Mattey earned sixth at 34.18 meters and
Kacy Miller got tenth at 21.58 meters.
In the shot put, Schneider secured third with a throw of 11.34 meters, while Rutkoski placed fourth with a toss of 10.84 meters, and Mattey took fifth at 10.70 meters.
Jev Brauer got 12th, as he posted a toss of 9.09 meters.
Josh Brown won the discus throw with a season best toss of 39.88 meters. Mattey earned fourth at 33.90 meters, Rutkoski took sixth at 33.39 meters, and Schneider got seventh at 32.33 meters. Brauer earned 11th at 27.78 meters and
Kacy Miller placed 15th at 20.63 meters.
In the high jump, Philip Oden and
Kival Clarke came in third and fifth at 1.67 meters.
Josh Malone topped the pole vault at 3.43 meters.
Jordan Jones won the long jump with a leap of 6.32 meters and teammate Oden took fourth at 5.69 meters.
The Monarchs return to competition on Thursday, April 30 as the team competes at the Middle Atlantic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Grantham, PA, hosted by Messiah University.
