GRANTHAM, PA (April 30, 2026) – The King's College men's outdoor track and field team showed strong performances Thursday on day one of the Middle Atlantic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the Starry Outdoor Track & Field Stadium, hosted by Messiah University. The Monarchs currently sit in ninth with a team score of five points.
Josh Malone opened the first day of the outdoor decathlon by finishing third overall in the 100 meter dash with a personal best time of 11.43, .42 seconds quicker than his original performance. Malone went on to place eleventh in the long jump at 5.47 meters, eighth in the shot put with a throw of 9.75 meters, and ninth in the jump at 1.60 meters. Malone closed day one of the outdoor decathlon in the 400 meter dash by earning second place with a personal best time of 53.96 seconds, as his time was 1.22 seconds faster than his previous standard. The junior standout currently sits 8th overall with 2,818 points.
In the hammer throw,
Brady Rutkoski earned tenth overall with a mark of 43.14 meters, while teammate Joey Schnieder placed 18th at 39.47 meters, and teammate
Daniel Mattey took 35th at 32.79 meters.
The Monarchs ended the day with a fourth-place finish in the 4x800 meter relay, as the squad of
Preston Klem,
Ryan Baxter,
Cohen Claar, and
Ben Wnuk ran a time of 7:59.89.
The King's College men's track & field team resumes competition on Friday, May 1, at 9:15 a.m.
