Malone and Jones Secure Podium Finishes for Men’s T&F at Day Two of Outdoor MAC Championships

GRANTHAM, PA (May 1, 2026)--The King's College men's outdoor track and field team showed dominant performances in the preliminary events and posted a few podium finishes Friday on day two of the Middle Atlantic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the Starry Outdoor Track & Field Stadium, hosted by Messiah University After two days of competition, the Monarchs currently are tied for tenth with a team score of 8 points alongside FDU-Florham.  

Josh Malone kicked off the second day by winning the 110‑meter hurdles in a school‑record 16.04, eclipsing the former standard of 16.48. Malone went to place sixth in the discus throw with a mark of 28.51 meters and second overall in the javelin throw with a personal best throw of 42.80 meters, over 4.10 meters stronger than his previous standard.

Malone closed out the decathlon by placing third with another strong personal best performance in the 1500 meter run at 5:05.47. Malones time was 19 seconds better than his original time. After completing all the events, Malone posted a total score of 4,993 points to secure a seventh place podium spot.

In the track events, the group of Dary Pichardo, Evan Galavage, Jacob Mullery, and Kival Clarke posted a sixth place finish in the 4x100 meter relay preliminaries to qualify for the finals with a time of 42.67 seconds. 

Mullery finished third in his heat and 26th overall in the 100-meter dash prelims at 11.30 seconds, while teammate Galavage placed sixth in his heat and 31st overall at 11.46 seconds.

In the field events, Jordan Jones earned an eighth place podium finish in the long jump with a leap of 6.61 meters. Robert santos took eleventh in the high jump at 1.77 meters.

Josh Brown placed 12th overall in the discus throw with a personal best mark of 41.31 meters, .87 meters better than his previous standard. Teammate Daniel Mattey finished in 28th at 35.61 meters.

The King's College men's track & field team resumes competition on Saturday, May 2, at 9:00 a.m. to compete in the final day of the conference championships.
