LADY MONARCH USE BIG SECOND HALF TO DEFEAT ARCADIA 80-63

WILKES-BARRE -- Kaitlyn Fiorino scored 23 of her game-high 27 points in the second half as the King's College women's basketball team posted an 80-63 victory over visiting Arcadia University in a Freedom Conference matchup Saturday night in Scandlon Gymnasium.

With the win, King's improved to 9-9 overall and 3-2 in conference play. Arcadia, meanwhile, slipped to 4-11 and 2-3.

Arcadia would come out hot and shot 59.3 (16-27) percent from the floor in the first half to take a 36-33 lead at the break. But King's withstood the early onslaught and outscored the Knights 47-27 over the game's final 20 minutes of play to walk away with the win.

Fiorino was 9-of-19 from the floor, including four three-pointers. Jenna Palumbo followed with 18 points on six three-pointers while Andrea Hochstuhl added 14 points and nine rebounds. Kaitlyn Malshefski contributed nine points while Lauren Kendra chipped in with seven points, seven rebounds, four assists, and four steals.

Arcadia was paced by Caitlyn Sparks with 20 points while Cynthia Rivera added 12.
