KING'S LACROSSE FALLS AT SUSQUEHANNA
SELINSGROVE -- Host Susquehanna University broke open a close game with nine unanswered goals as the Crusaders posted a 14-5 victory over King's College Wednesday in Selinsgrove.
With the win, Susquehanna improved to 2-1 while King's fell to 1-1.
With Susquehanna holding a 4-2 lead in the first period, the Crusaders closed out the first half with four straight goals to take a 8-2 lead at the break.
Susquehanna then added four consecutive goals in the third period and one to start the fourth quarter to build a 13-2 lead before
Ryan Lachner ended the drought for King's. Lachner would add another score while
Curtis Reinard also scored in the fourth quarter for the Monarchs.
Lachner finished with two goals while Reinard finished with one goal and two assists.
Rusty Booth and
Chris Landry also scored goals for the Monarchs while
John Doran and
Brendan Novotny chipped in with one assist each.
Tim Cassi made 12 saves for King's.
Greg Norris led Susquehanna with three goals while Brett Brown added two goals and three assists. Kirk Ryan and Mike Finne combined for eight saves
