Women's Lacrosse Falls Short in Comeback Versus Widener

KING'S WOMEN'S LACROSSE FALLS SHORT IN COMEBACK VERSUS WIDENER

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's women's lacrosse team fell behind 9-3 in the first half but fell short in a second half comeback, falling 15-13 to Widener University Saturday at Betzler Fields.

With the loss, King's stands at 2-11 overall and 1-5 in MAC play while Widener improved to 5-8 and 3-3 in league play.

Kerri Shultz led Widener with five goals while Mandy Wilson tallied two goals and two assists. Tara Krsaley and Jackie Elliott netted two goals each to pace the Pride.

For King's, Michelle O'Brien tallied three goals and one assist while Grace King score three goals. Candace Russ scored two goals with one assist while Melissa Gates and Reanna Lachner scored twice each. Shannon Ellis chipped in with one goal. In goal, Heather Kelly made 14 saves on the day.
