KING'S WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS TO 20th RANKED MARYMOUNT
 
ARLINGTON, VA -- Marymount University, ranked 20th nationally in Division III, built a 20-point second half advantage and walked away with a 64-51 victory over the King's College women's basketball team in the second-round of the eight-team, three-day Marymount Tip-Off Classic Saturday in Arlington, Va.

With the win, Marymount improved to 3-0 on the year while King's slipped to 1-2. 
 
After taking a 33-24 lead into the halftime break, Marymount scored the first seven points of the second half, building a 16-point lead on a Maame Amponsah's basket to give the host squad a 40-24 lead with 17:42 left in the contest. 

The Lady Monarchs cut the lead to 40-31 on baskets by Paige Carlin and Juliana Lynott, followed by a three-pointer from Nina Magan with 15:07 to play. 

Marymount, however, countered with a decisive 11-0 surge to build a 51-31 following one-of-two foul shots from Zoe Saulsgiver with 12:02 remaining. 

Trailing by 18 at 60-42 with 4:58 to play, King's attempted to get back in the game with an 11-0 run following a three-pointer from Jess Segilia, and a layup and two foul shots from Katlin Michaels to bring the Lady Monarchs to within 60-51 with 1:50 to play.

King's would draw no closer, however, as Marymount scored the final three points of the game to walk away with the victory. 

The Lady Monarchs had 10 different players reach the scoring coulmn but none would reach double-digits. Lynott topped the squad with eight points and six rebounds while Michaels tallied six points, four rebounds and three assists. Carlin, and Magan also scored six points each while Abby Malloy contributed with five. Brittany Muscatell chipped in with three points, five rebounds, and three assists. 

Terell White topped Marymount with 18 points while Aamanda Bily and Amponsah scored 13 points apiece. 

King's will attempt to secure third-place when the Lady Monarchs face Ferrum (Va.) University Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
