Rusty Booth Nets Five Goals to Lead King's Laxers to 10-5 Win Over Miseri

KING'S MEN'S LACROSSE TEAMS EARNS 10-5 WIN OVER MISERICORDIA

DALLAS --  Rusty Booth (left) scored five goals to power the King's College men's lacrosse team to a 10-5 victory over host Misericordia University Wednesday at Anderson Field in Dallas.

With the win, King's improved to 3-11 overall and 2-7 in the Middle Atlantic Conference while Misericordia slipped to 3-11 and 1-8 in MAC play.

King's took a 5-2 lead into the halftime break on the strength of two goals by Matt Sweazey and Booth, along with a single score from Jason Merola.   Booth would take over in the third quarter as he opened the second half with back-to-back scores to give the Monarchs a 7-2 lead with 10:19 remaining in the period. After a Misericordia goal from Zach Buckley, T.J. Lyon and Sweazey scored two of the next three goals to give the Monarchs a 9-4 lead heading into the final 15:00 of play. After Lee Blair scored for the Cougars just 0:09 into the fourth quarter, Booth tallied his final goal with 7:59 remaining to end the scoring. 

Booth was joined by Sweazey who finished the contest with three goals and five assists while Tim Cassi made 12 saves in net for the Monarchs. Buckely led Misericordia with two goals and one assist while Cougar keeper james Scott made four saves.

King's wraps up its season Saturday with a 4:00 p.m. home matchup with Widener University at McCarthy Stadium.
