LADY MONARCH CAGERS TO OPEN 2011 SUNDAY AT MORAVIAN WINTER CLASSIC
BETHLEHEM -- The King's College women's basketball team will look to shake off a 22-day layoff when the Lady Monarchs compete in the Starters Pub/Moravian Winter Classic Sunday and Monday at Moravian College.
King's will face host Moravian in the second contest of the day at 3:00 p.m. while Frostburg State and William Paterson square off in the other semi-final pairing at 1:00 p.m. The event concludes Monday with the consolation game set for 1:00 p.m. with the championship contest to follow at 3:00 p.m.

The Lady Monarchs enter the tournament with a 7-3 record and a 2-0 mark in the Freedom Conference after defeating Keystone 74-52 in its last game on December 11. Sophomore guard Celia Rader tops the squad with 15.7 points per-game, including 25 three-pointers. Junior forward Paige Carlin follows with 11.6 points and 4.8 rebounds while sophomore guard Katlin Michaels adds 9.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists. Junior forward Lindsay Atchison tallies 8.7 points and 7.4 rebounds while sophomore center Molly Dahl contributed 6.7 points and 6.4 boards. Junior point-guard Brittany Muscatell chips in with 5.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.4 assists. Mary Beth Spirk is in her 24th season at Moravian, had a career record of 436-203 headed into the break.
Moravian headed to the holiday break with an overall record of 4-5 and a 0-1 slate in the Landmark Conference season. The Greyhounds have had a 22-break since their last game on December 11th. Greyhound head coach
Frostburg State University from Frostburg, Maryland headed into its holiday break with a 4-6 record, and the Bobcats compete in the Capital Athletic Conference. Bobcats head coach Jody Pepple is in her tenth overall season at the school. Frostburg State, which had a nine-day layoff between games.
William Paterson University from Wayne, New Jersey headed into its holiday break with a 7-2 record and a 1-1 mark in New Jersey Athletic Conference action after starting the year 7-0 and in the national rankings. Pioneers head coach Erin Monahan is in her 18th season at the school. William Paterson had a 11-day break between games.
