KING'S MEN'S LAXERS FALL TO E-TOWN
ELIZABETHTOWN -- Aaron Weber scored three goals and dished out two assists to power the host Elizabetehtown College men's soccer team to a 14-4 victory over King's College in a Middle Atlantic Conference matchup Saturday in Elizabethtown.
King's began a difficult day when the Monarch team bus broke down on the highway on the way to the game, causing a delayed start of 1:15. The Blue Jays jumped on the Monarchs from the start, racing out to a 6-1 halftime lead. The Blue Jays stretched the lead to 9-3 after three quarters and put the game away during the final 15 minutes of play by outscoring King's 5-1.
Rusty Booth and Brendan Novotny led the Monarchs with two goals an done assist apiece. Dan Carducci and Matt Giordano chipped in with one assist each.
King's goalie Kenny Cernuto made nine saves on the day. Elizabethtown outshot King's 44-23 and held a 37-27 advantage in ground balls.
King's travels to Chester to face Widener University in a 7:00 p.m. matchup.
