KING'S MEN'S LACROSSE FALLS TO GOUCHER, 13-2
TOWSON, MD -- Kyle Boncaro scored five goals and dished out two assists to power Goucher College to a 13-2 victory over visiting King's College in a non-conference men's lacrosse matchup Sunday in Towson, Md.
With the win, Goucher improved to 1-2 on the year while King's slipped to 1-1.
Boncaro scored two goals as Goucher built a 4-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. King's scored its first goal at 4:21 of the second period when Brendan Novotny struck net off a Curtis Reinard assists. The Monarchs would score their final goal later in the quarter when Dan Carducci converted a pass from Rusty Booth to cut the lead to 7-2. Boncaro, however, would register his third goal with just 0:28 left in the second quarter as the Gophers took a 8-2 lead at the break.
King's was outshot 44-17 while Goucher held a slim 47-44 advantage in ground balls. King's starting goalie Kenny Cernuto made 11 saves in 55 minutes of play while Mike Benson stopped one shot in finishing out the contest.
