KING'S MEN'S LACROSSE FALLS TO EASTERN, 10-2
WILKES-BARRE – Will Johnson scored two goals and dished out two assists to power Eastern University to a 10-2 victory over host King's College in a conference men's lacrosse matchup Saturday at McCarthy Stadium.
With loss King's slips to a 4-6 overall record and a 2-5 conference mark, while Eastern improved to 8-3 overall and 6-1 in conference play
Michael Hofmeister scored two goals as Eastern built a 5-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. King's scored its first goal at 2:55 of the second period when Lenny Fox would cash in on the Eastern goalkeeping change. The Monarchs would score their final goal later in the quarter when Curtis Reinard converted a pass from Matt Giordano to cut the lead to 9-2. Joey Wilmot scored the final goal of the game for the Eagles with 0:39 left for the 10-2 victory.
King's was outshot 42-23 while Eastern held the 33-22 advantage in ground balls. King's starting goalie Kenny Cernuto made 14 saves in 60 minutes of play, while Aaron Benz made seven saves in 57:05 minutes for the Eagles.
King's now travels to Madison, NJ on April 21 to take on conference foe FDU-Florham at 4:00 p.m.
