KING'S MEN'S LAXERS BID SENIORS FAREWELL WITH 17-6 WIN OVER MISERICORDIA IN HOME FINALE
 
WILKES-BARRE --  The King's College men's lacrosse team made it a memorable night for 10 seniors playing their final home game as the Monarchs posted a dominating 17-6 victory over visiting Misericordia University Wednesday night under the lights at McCarthy Stadium.
 
With the win, King's improved to 6-8 overall and 4-6 in Middle Atlantic Conference play. Misericordia, meanwhile, slipped to 3-12 and 1-9 in league contests
 
King's raced out of the gates as senior Curtis Reinard scored just 0:46 into the game. Lenny Fox struck only 0:58 later to give the Monarchs a 2-0 lead. Chris Fuldner then scored off a Dan Carducci assist and Matt Girodano converted a Reinard pass for a 4-0 King's led after the first quarter.
 
In the second period, senior Peter Grenot scored unassisted just 0:14 into the quarter and Fox followed with another unassisted score at 12:08 to give King's a 6-0 lead. The score swelled to 8-0 when Jason Merola made good on a Reinard assist at 8:54 and Reinard would then use a pass from Brendan Novotny to pad the lead just 0:44 later.

Senior Rusty Booth then tallied two unanswered goals over the final 7:10 to give King's a 10-0 halftime lead. 
 
In the second half, Booth scored his third straight goal just 0:45 into the quarter for an 11-0 Monarch lead. Misericordia finally got on the board when Lee Blair scored twice and Kyle Calabro struck net to cut the lead to 11-3 with 11:04 remaining in the third quarter.
 
King's, however, countered with goals from Booth and Reinard to build a 13-3 lead with 9:53 left in the third. The Monarchs eventually built a 15-4 lead entering the fourth quarter after goals by Novotny and Merola.
 
The Monarchs outshot Misericordia 52-19 and held a 55-30 advantage in ground balls.
 
Booth finished with four goals and an assist while Reinard tallied three goals and three assists. Novotny contributed two goals and an assist while Fox also added two goals.Carducci chipped in with two assists.
 
The Cougars were paced by Blair with three goals while J.R. Lauri finished with one goal and one assist.
 
The Monarchs will wrap up their season Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. contest at DeSales University.
