LADY MONARCHS LACROSSE HOSTING WIDENER, VIEW LIVESTATS

WILKES-BARRE - - The King's College women's lacrosse team is hosting Widener University in conference action Thursday at McCarthy Stadium at the Robert L. Betzler Athletic Complex with the game slated to start at 4:00 p.m.

King's enters today's game with a 0-15 overall record and a 0-10 MAC mark after dropping a 17-15 decision to Misericordia University on Tuesday. Freshman Krystina Villarreal leads the team with 28 points on 24 goals and four assists. Freshman Chelsea Manes follows with 25 points on 21 goals and four assists while also contributing 41 ground balls on defense. Junior Sarah O'Doherty contributes 10 points on nine goals and one assist. Freshman Andrea Alesso has ten points on seven goals and three assists.

Junior Allison Gourniak tallies nine points on nine goals. Sophomore Melissa D'Aniello has six points on four goals and two assists while also contributing 37 ground balls on defense. Senior Shannon Ellis has been another defensive leader with 37 ground balls, while Meg Mundy has tallied 30 ground balls while also recording nine saves in net.

Widener stands at 10-5 on the year and 7-3 in MAC play after picking up a 21-11 victory over Manhattanville College on Tuesday. Jackie Elliott tops the squad with 84 points on 66 goals and 18 assists.  Rachel Porter follows with 52 points on 40 goals and 12 assists. Jen Harnden adds 42 points on 22 goals and 20 assists while Calina Walz contributes 36 points on 21 goals and 15 assists. In goal Linda Salcedo has 112 saves in 747:38 minutes.

King's will then close out its season Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. matchup at home against Wilkes University
