KING'S LACROSSE TEAMS IN ACTION WEDNESDAY, VIEW LIVESTATS
WILKES-BARRE – The King's College men's and women's lacrosse teams will be back in action Wednesday as the men's squad welcomes Utica College to McCarthy Stadium for a 4:00 p.m. matchup while the women's team travels to Marywood University for a contest at 7:00 p.m. in Scranton.

The Monarchs (1-3) look to bounce back following a 16-4 defeat at Randolph-Macon College in Virginia on Saturday. Freshman attacker Mike O'Brien leads the offense with 10 points on six goals and four assists. Fellow freshman attacker Kieran McMahon follows with four points on two goals and two helpers. Midfielders freshman Shane Russo, sophomore Lenny Fox, and junior Phil Danni each contribute three points on three goals a piece. Junior goalie Kevin Conzola has been steady in net in his first season as a Monarch posting a 11.50 goals against average with 48 saves.
Utica enters the match with a 1-1 overall mark after falling 22-8 against SUNY Potsdam on Monday. The Pioneers are led by freshman attacker Scott baron with six points on three goals and three assists. Senior midfielder Michael Schepis follows with five points on three goals and two assists. Junior keeper Wilson Mukrdechian has a 12.00 GAA with 12 saves in net.
On the women's side, King's (1-0) made their 2011 season opener a memorable one breaking several team and individual records in a 26-1 win over Cedar Crest College on Monday. The 26 goals broke a school record for most goals in one game, surpassing the previous mark of 25 set in 2006 against Chestnut Hill College. The Lady Monarchs also tallied 12 assists in the victory, tied for second most in school history. Junior midfielder Chelsea Manes leads the attack with 10 points (tied for most points in a single game in school history) on three goals and seven assists. Midfielders sophomore Krystina Villarreal follows with six points on five goals and one helper while senior Sarah O'Doherty adds five points on five goals. Freshman goalie Megan Withrow made two stops in the win over the Falcons.
Marywood stands 1-2 on the year following a 17-11 loss at Hartwick College on Friday. Junior attacker Taylor McKeown tops the squad with 11 points on 11 goals. Freshman midfielders Diana D'Achille and Kimberly Commisso tally 10 points on 10 goals each. Pacers keeper Megan Planz has a 14.23 GAA with 28 saves.
