WOMEN'S LACROSSE FALLS IN MAC OPENER TO WIDENER
 
CHESTER -- The King's College women's lacrosse team came up short in its Middle Atlantic Conference opener as the Lady Monarchs dropped an 18-5 verdict to host Widener University Saturday in Chester. With the win, Widener improved to 3-3 on the year while King's fell to 1-2.

Alex Taratuski led the Pride with four goals and two assists  while Rachel Porter added three goals and three assists. Mellany Broomall, Julia Costello, Calina Walz, Amy Albano, and Sarah Hollywood all contributed two goals each. Linda Salcedo and Shelly O'Neill combined for eight saves for the Pride.

For King's, Cheslea Manes and Sarah O'Doherty posted two goals and one assist apiece. Krystina Villarreal added one goal while Lea Rivieccio chipped in with one assist.  Megan Withrow posted 12 saves in goal for the Lady Monarchs while Linda Salcedo and Shelly O'Neill combined for eight saves for the Pride.

King's will next travel to Madison, NJ to face FDU-Florham Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
