KING'S LACROSSE TEAMS BATTLE ELIZABETHTOWN SATURDAY IN MAC MATCHUPS
WILKES-BARRE – With two weeks left to play in their respective seasons, the King's College men's and women's lacrosse teams are looking to position themselves for a playoff spot in next month's Middle Atlantic Conference Tournament. Saturday both squads will play pivotal contests against Elizabethtown College in what will go along way in sorting the playoff seeding race.
The men will host the Blue Jays at McCarthy Stadium at 1:00 p.m., while the women travel to Elizabethtown. Due to weather-related field conditions, the game will be played at the Manheim Township Recreation Complex while the time has moved to 3:30 p.m.

King's men enter the contest with a 5-7 overall record standing 3-4 in conference play following a 9-6 loss at Lebanon Valley College on Wednesday. The Monarchs currently are in a four-way tie for the sixth and final playoff spot with Elizabethtown, Misericordia, and Lebanon Valley with four games left on their slate.
Freshman attack Mike O'Brien has enjoyed a banner rookie year leading the team with 24 points on 14 goals and 10 assists. Sophomore Lenny Fox adds 17 points on 16 goals and one helper. Fox has elevated his play over the past three games scoring 10 goals and adding two assists during the stretch. Freshman Kieran McMahon (left) adds 15 points on seven goals and eight assists. Junior goalie Kevin Conzola has an 8.22 goals against average with 125 saves playing every minute in net. Conzola posts a .561 save percentage facing 389 shots.
Elizabethtown (5-5, 3-4 MAC) enters the matchup after falling 11-10 in overtime at Messiah College Wednesday. Senior midfielder Shawn Corcoran leads the Blue Jays with 28 points on 20 goals and eight assists. Freshman attack Derek Kline follows with 22 points on 20 goals and two helpers. Junior goalie Brendan Corcoran boasts a 5.95 GAA with 76 saves and a .585 save percentage in 10 matches in net.
On the women's side, King's (3-7, 2-6 MAC) looks to break a two-game slide after falling to Lebanon Valley 18-7 on Wednesday. Sophomore midfielder Chelsea Manes tops the squad with 37 points on 21 goals and 16 assists. Fellow sophomore Krystina Villarreal adds 32 points on a team-high 25 goals and seven helpers. Senior attack Sarah O'Doherty contributes 24 points on 22 goals and two assists. Freshman Amanda Harney (left) posts 20 points on 17 goals and three assists in her first year as a Lady Monarch. Freshman goalie Megan Withrow has a 14.50 GAA with 94 saves playing every minute in net.
Elizabethtown holds the top spot in the MAC with a 9-2 overall mark and a perfect 7-0 in conference play after posting an 18-5 win at Widener University on Saturday. Senior midfielder Sarah Cullinan leads the team with 51 points on 29 goals and 22 assists. Sophomore attack Becky Porter follows with 37 points on 23 goals and 14 helpers. Sophomore goalie Rachel Waldman is strong in net with a 7.73 GAA and 74 saves starting all 11 matches for the Blue Jays.

Following the weekend of play, the men return to action Thursday when they host Widener University at 4:00 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium. The Lady Monarchs have a quick turnaround game against Lancaster Bible College Monday at 4:00 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium.
