MEN'S LACROSSE HOSTS DESALES SATURDAY IN KEY MAC MATCHUP, VIEW LIVESTATS

 

WILKES-BARRE – Halfway through the Middle Atlantic Conference season, the King's College men's lacrosse team remains in the middle of the pack gearing for a push towards the playoff race come early May. Saturday the Monarchs will get the chance to separate themselves from the rest of the pack when they host DeSales University at 1:00 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium.

King's (4-6, 2-3 MAC) enters the contest tied for sixth place in the conference following an important 8-7 win at Misericordia University on Wednesday. Freshman attacker Mike O'Brien leads the Monarch offense with 21 points on 12 goals and nine assists. Sophomore Lenny Fox contributes 10 points on 10 goals including a four-goal output in the win against the Cougars.

Midfielders freshman Pat Bonnot (left) and sophomore Ryan Bullock each tally eight points on the season. Bonnot posts seven goals and an assist, while Bullock notches two goals and six helpers. Junior goalie Kevin Conzola has an 8.26 goals against average with 109 saves playing every minute in net for King's. Conzola posts a .571 save percentage facing 323 shots.

 

DeSales (1-7, 1-3 MAC) holds the tenth spot in the league standings after falling 15-5 against Messiah College on Wednesday. Sophomore attacker James Guerrier leads the Bulldogs offensively with nine points on seven goals and two helpers. Sophomore midfielder Jarrod Wiedow also adds nine points on five goals and four assists, while junior attack Tony Fabrizio contributes six points on six goals. Senior goalie Justin Campanelli owns a 10.00 GAA with 111 saves in eight games in net.

 

King's continues their playoff push Wednesday when they travel to Lebanon Valley College for a 4:00 p.m. matchup in Annville, Pa.
